Here we have a man who has already shown himself to be a threat to his neighbors by shooting his gun off indoors, and now he is pointing a gun at the responders.
Yeah, the smoke detector story is going to make it really hard in the other cop thread to show how a running away guy with a gun in his pants was more of a threat than a guy who had already shot a smoke detector indoors and was actually pointing a gun at people.
