Ok, I get it. I go by the number that the slider shows, which appears to be lower than the number from the stamp, probably because the stamp number is fixed by posting order while the slider is the thread count: if posts are delete in the thread, the slider count goes down but the stamp number does not change (since it is used in links).
Hey look, it worked! As soon as you posted those links we got a story dug up from a month ago in the other thread.
Unfortunately, I don’t have to dig back a month. This happened Wednesday.
From Tuesday in Chicago, Illinois, a man leaving the funeral of one person who was fatally shot was himself fatally shot when shots were fired into the crowd of people leaving the funeral.
From yesterday, in Detroit, Michigan, a man was shot to death in his own back yard.
From Thursday, in Providence, RI. 9 people were injured in what is described as the city’s largest shootout in history.
Then Friday in the same city, a 25 year old man shot to death in his car in a parking lot.
From Thursday in Houston, Texas, a motorcyclist was shot dead while waiting for a red light.
EDIT: apparently we are limited to 4 consecutive posts these days.
EDIT2: but apparently the “positive gun news” thread isn’t?
That may have to do with within how much time in between the consecutives. You just did three in 10 to 12 minutes, his last 3 took two days after a 3-week break. You may want to ATMB it.
Even @discobot knows that the gun nuts need a handicap
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help
.
From Saturday in Atlanta, an argument escalates into a shooting that sends bystanders, including one 71 year old man, to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
From Sunday (this morning) in Dallas, a fight outside a convenience store ends in gun violence as a man is shot in the chest, and the shooter drives away before the police arrive.
From Citrus Heights, California, also this morning, gunfire erupts during a fight, shooting 2 people and 3 parked cars.
From Cincinnati, Ohio, … Also this morning… a fight outside a club turns into a shooting, leaving one dead and 3 injured.
More support for the view that we need to get tough on juvenile crime: a two-year old toddler shot his parents, but strangely the parent was charged:
Charge him as an adult, I say! If only the parents were armed, maybe this tragedy could have been prevented.
[/sarcasm]
From the article:
Both parents with one bullet? How can you charge a kid with marksmanship like that?
This is what is wrong with the nanny-state government these days. The liberal wimps want to restrict guns too much. For example, regulations about safely storing your guns are stupid. I mean look - when your two year old gets ahold of the gun you left on the coffee table, the LAST THING you want to have to do is to head to a gun safe and get your other weapons. What you need is to have another gun on your person, so you can return fire. It’s obvious that these regulations are actually dangerous.
insert bawdy joke about what body parts of each parent was shot and what exactly they were doing at the time
Another nightstand related tragedy! Oh, when will we ever learn?
