Stupid Gun news of the day (Part 1)

“That’ll teach you to drop your blue baggy inside my recycle bin!” -

Yes, well…

USA! USA! USA!

You got to hand it to Americans: every country has its idiots, but only Americans put so much work into their stupidity. That’s that can-do spirit we keep hearing about!

For my blistering retort, may I offer this old pearl:

Hey, I thought people weren’t supped to use the flag to wipe their ass…

An understandable mistake (on your part); after all, shit does come out of the portion of his anatomy touching the flag.

Weren’t there TWO events where Trump did that humping the flag schtick? ISTR he did that at CPAC two years in a row, or at some other such event.

Those pics of him making whoopie with the flag are among the most DIZGUSTING pics of him that I can think of.

Man shot in theater in dispute over seats:

… I turned down the chance to see the new Spiderman movie because of reports that no one was wearing COVID masks. Now, this sh-t?

What’s coming back next? Black powder pistol duels?

Man fatally shot over flag football dispute in Washington, D.C. in the shadow of our capitol.

No doubt he was aiming for Pelosi, but missed.

Note, the suspected perp’s name is Hawley.

That is unspeakably sad. From an earlier article in a different source:

Aylee Gordon’s father, a retired Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Captain, said she found the gun by accident in a truck parked outside their house.

“She picked up a pistol and shot herself in the head by accident. We didn’t know. She’s got a head wound,” her father, Tim Gordon, said in the 911 call.

Gordon told the dispatcher they had a friend visiting for Christmas, and that person left a gun in the car.

The gun was Not in the visitor’s vehicle–it was in the father’s vehicle:

I’m sure someone will be along and explain to us that, unattended, loaded, ready to fire, in the back seat of a pick up is responsible gun storage.

He said that they had a visitor for the holidays and the visitor went in the car and he did not know it. That is how he put it. I mean, I can understand a distraught parent being somewhat incoherent. Guns chambered ready to fire, though. It was not an “accident”.

I will at least credit them for being unlikely to make that argument. We’re more likely to get the “No True Gun Owner just leaves loaded guns lying around like that” defense.

We will hear that he shouldn’t be prosecuted, he lost his daughter, he’s suffered enough.

Good guy with a gun made a little mistake.

Same thing happened in Memphis in August, Ohio in 2016, Las Vega in 2019 (not fatal).
