Stupid Gun news of the day (Part 1)

[QUOTE=Kable;16169643… It really does seem to some of you that defensive gun use really never happens. I just like to show that guns sometimes regardless of how much…[/QUOTE]

I am a thread killer around here. No official designation or anything, mind you. But it seems more often than not, that if I post in a limping-on-it’s-last-legs thread, the thread dies. I don’t know, call it a gift. Maybe 1 or 2 posts beyond mine, if history can be relied upon. Let’s hope that the song remains the same with this one.

Could be. Don’t seem like my question to elucidator and dropzone has left either of them wanting to answer either.

Including your made up one or not?

Why don’t you believe mine? Cause you think they don’t really happen. Tell you what, don’t count mine and give me your best estimate and cite your sources.

Not enough to justify turning a blind eye to the carnage from accidental and premeditated homicide.

How many would be enough to justify the carnage? How many defensive gun usages do you think there are?

Seems none of you wants to say. I wonder why?

Ooh, ooh. 7 Billion!

Was I close?

Come on Jack, give a serious estimate and cite some sources. You guys really don’t want to think about it do you?

So you don’t know either? This forum doesn’t exist to help you cheat on your homework. Besides, you’d be breaking the honor code that your mom signed when she enrolled you at Smith & Wesson Elementary.

I know a number of estimates, and can give a number of cites. But I want to see what numbers you gun grabbers get behind. I understand why every one of you hesitates to answer.

It isn’t an honest question, Kable, you don’t do that sort of thing, you are setting a trap, and you are kinda clumsy at it. Can see the box, the stick, the string trailing off behind the tree where you cackle with anticipation. You don’t show the least inclination to an honest argument, so why would we be so stupid as to think you are asking an honest question?

Oh come on. I said you seem to think it’s zero. Some of you retorted otherwise, so I really want to know what number you think it is. No fewer than 6 of you gun grabbers have dodged the question. What are you all afraid of?

No, I just think YOURS is made up.

Come on - youtube video, or it never happened.

Or tell us the story of how you shot the knife out of his hand before he could attack your wimmin-folk.

I think the number you’re looking for is “Eleventy billion”

That’s fine. So how many per year do you think aren’t made up?

This weeks GunFAIL XII is located here: GunFAIL XII and reports that the CDC counted 14,675 unintentional firearm incidents in 2011.

282 a week.

This week’s blog has quite a few trained professionals. Let us just see what they were up to:

An off-duty cop in Louisiana and an accidental discharge (no, not THAT kind) is a strip club bathroom. He snuck out.

Another off duty cop in Pennsylvania accidentally shot a friend in the hand.

A salesman for police equipment left 7 guns, bullets and other equipment in his unlocked car overnight and was surprised to find them gone the next morning. At least no one was shot or killed with any of them. Yet.

A Coconino County Sheriff also forgot his gun in the car. Stolen!

An off-duty sheriff’s deputy in Norfolk forgot his weapon in a Macy’s dressing room.

The off-duty cop “securing” his weapon in Philadelphia did not hit any people. Winning!

In Oregon, a retired sheriff’s captain shot himself in the hand while cleaning a gun… at his annual qualification test… at the police firing range.

I’m confused about the guy from the Florida National Guard. Was it a grenade or an assault rifle he was threatening those women with? Oh, both!

A licensed NRA gun safety instructor in Connecticut had to miss the big pro-gun rally after he shot himself in the foot. Oops!

Deputies target practicing at a shooting range had to call the cops because some yahoos next to the range were just randomly target shooting and sending stray bullets over the heads of the target practicing deputies. To be fair, these trained guys weren’t guilty of dumbassery.

Ex-cop shot at his estranged wife while they both were driving separate cars down the road. It is being called ‘a road rage’ incident. Hmm. I’d call it attempted murder, but whatevs.

An accidental discharge by a security guard hit a patron in the head at an IHOP. Killed.

Nobody thinks it’s “zero,” professor. Your strawman is an empty suit. Nevertheless, in the interest of getting this the hell overwith, I’ll take one for the team.

“I, Vinyl Milquetoast Turnip-Clinton, Principal Gun-grabber at the Hugs-Not-Guns Institute of Berkeley, California, hereby declare in a high-pitched, quavering voice that the number of incidents of defensive gun use per year is zero, and I dare anyone to provide a scintilla of evidence to the contrary. Would anyone care for another kelpcake or a gourd of lukewarm kombucha?”

(Kable, that was the cue to reveal your gotcha.)

Ca3799, how many defensive gun usages would you estimate there were in 2011?

So how many do you think it is, really is?
