You can have my woodchipper when it takes my cold dead hand!
Oh, its KNOWLEDGE! I see, yes, now that you capitalize it, it becomes much more powerful! But how does this magical force work? How does it deter someone from committing a crime if they don’t know? Do firearms give off a special magic vibration that works subconsciously? Like my lawn troll scares away ice spiders? Must be working, don’t see any.
What are the tactics of the situation? If your assailant has his gun in hand, you going to outdraw him with your lightning fast reflexes? Or isn’t it more likely that he will have your money and your gun?
They are selling you fear, and then selling you the “cure”. But the cure is the disease, and the disease is fear. Why do you think they make so many weapons that look like something Rambo would pick out, military “style” weapons, the “big black scary guns”. They do it because that’s what sells. Doesn’t make them more effective, a gun is a gun is a gun. They do it for money. Because the scary looking gun sells to people who are afraid of other scary looking guns.
Same reason they don’t say “burglary” or “theft”. They say “home invasion”. Why pick a “scary” term over a simple description? You know why as well as I do. Money. They are in the business of selling fear. The money price you only pay once, the fear price you pay every day.
Is this the magical KNOWLEDGE you are talking about?

If abstinence is good for sex education, then avoidance of guns should be proper for gun education…
Sorry, but that’s ridiculous on its face.
Your turn.
sorry, forgot the smiley…
“A man died of a “self-inflicted injury” following a verbal altercation in the infield during the NRA 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night, police say.”
He shot himself at an NRA sponsored event. That can’t be good PR.
An 11-year-old boy brought an AR-15 and a white flag with the words “Come and Take It” to a rally at the New Hampshire State House Saturday, the Union Leader reported.
Organized by the Granite State Patriots Liberty PAC, the “Honor Your Oath” rally charged that lawmakers who voted to repeal the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law last month violated their oaths of office and should be impeached, according to the Union Leader. The rally organizers said the event was not “gun rally.”
But that didn’t stop 11-year-old Hunter Cogswell of Concord from bringing an AR-15 and a big white flag with black lettering: “Come and Take It.”
The boy said he was there to “stand up for gun rights.”
Oh phew. My bad.
I need me one of them because the ice spiders have moved inside the house because my basement is colder than outside. Maybe the lawn gnome will work even better if I conceal it because I don’t want to look like a dork.
Lawn gnomes work best when they open carry
No pockets.
Another tidbit from the 3rd redneckedist state in the union (TX & OK still holding at #1 and #2).
Vendor at gun show lays out loaded weapon for public handling & inspection. Customer picks it up and tries out trigger pull. Gun discharges, striking other displayed firearms and sending shrapnel into crowd, wounding two, one seriously. Show promoter says no problem, he carries $2 million liability for just such a contingency.
Kudos to the vendor for an honest attempt to improve the gene pool.
Whew! Good thing that’s not illegal!
“A 23-year-old Mountain Home man who suffered serious eye injury from flying shrapnel after a gun discharged at the Fort Boise Gun Show Saturday is expected to regain vision in his eye, according to the organizer of the event.”
Hey, you really will shoot an eye out.
Here’s a new idea: using bitcoin to buy bitguns.
"People buy bitcoins with cash and use them to trade goods online. Bitcoin transactions are nearly untraceable, making them the preferred currency of some online gun dealers.
Several websites that sell firearms only accept payment in bitcoins, but they are not easy to find. Most reside on what is called the “Deep Web,” or sites that can only be accessed via Tor, a special browser that shields the identities of users. Chicago, a city with a seriously unfunny amount of gun problems, reported 26 shot over the weekend. Apparently, one killer had to get himself into police custody to save himself from a mob of 100 who wanted to retaliate. If only those 100 were armed, this problem could have been solved easily. Vigilante justice for everybody!
Anonymous money buying anonymous guns. FTW!
I beg your pardon. We are not #2 to Texas in anything except population.
This father has released some pictures of the murder scene of his son, ala Emmit Till’s mom, who ‘wanted the world to see’.
The murderer in this case called his gun “his bitch” and shot this car full of kids because he thought the driver had cut him off in traffic. He was wrong about that. He had shot at at least one other car in the weeks leading to this horrifying tragedy and kept new articles about the crime so he could brag about it.
“Even now, when The Huffington Post reached the prosecutor on the phone, Williams (the prosecutor) circled back to the gun and its prominence in the killer’s mind. “There’s something about holding a gun that can empty a 50-round clip in seconds,” Williams said. “It’s like having your finger on a nuclear bomb … You got the power. You want to use it.””
Funny, I’ve shot high-capacity full-auto assault rifles at a licensed range and I didn’t orgasm once. I didn’t even get hard. My main thought was “Damn; thirty dollars worth of ammo gone already??”
Cocaine is cheaper.
