Even as fucked up as Florida’s gun laws are, that’s not true.
That’s reasonably close to what happened in this case, except they didn’t break into anything, they were trying to leave, and he didn’t fire it in the air, he fired it at them.
In Houston (the one in Texas), a man learned from a restaurant employee that that guy back there had fleeced him out of $40 for parking, so he excused himself briefly to address the situation, in the only reasonable way, of course, then came back and assured his date that everything was just fine.
The other guy subsequently never left the hospital.
So… one goes to emergency, one goes to jail, and the meat in the supermarket is covered with human blood and tissue…?
“Fred, there’s a finger in the pack of cold cuts.”
“Was it the thumb on the scales…?”
“I’m not eating this. Take it back to the store.”
“The manager isn’t going to believe me; he’ll say I put the finger in to get a free 1/2 lb of chicken breast.”
“Show him your hands. He can count to ten, can’t he?”
“What if he has a gun?”
“Then there’ll be a finger in somebody else’s 1/2 lb of chicken breast…”
A man in Cleveland, Texas (north of Houston) executed his neighbors (including an 8-year old) because they had the temerity to ask him to stop firing his AR-15 in his yard at 11:00 at night.
I think asking him to stop shooting was NOT the key point. Instead the key point is that the victims were all from Honduras and the shooter was trying to do something about the migrant problem…
Christ on a crutch. This is like something out of a dystopian novel. It really has gotten to the point in this country where you don’t dare look at someone the wrong way or for too long a time. I’m even hesitant about going to any place where people gather. Yesterday, we were at a local art museum, which was very crowded for a special event. I’ve gotten in the habit of checking out people instead of what I came to see, as there seems to be nothing that isn’t off-limits for some nut-job to start blasting away.
Capers said there were 10 people in the house and that no one else was injured. He said two of the victims, all believed to be from Honduras, were found laying over two children inside.
Perhaps I misread this or it was poorly written: does “all believed to be from Honduras” refer to the 10 people in the house or the two victims found laying over two children?
But there could be numerous explanations for the murders and asking to quit shooting could also simply be a coincidence or the straw which broke the camel’s back.
How is it even legal to discharge a firearm in an urban area? (Unless at a range). In Canada he would have been arrested the first time. What fucking bullshit. Un-fucking believable.
The very act of doing so should be evidence that such a person does not have the level of responsibility or judgement to own a gun.
