Stupid Gun news of the day (Part 2)

Agreed, but the decent parts of America are being pulled under by the weight of shit holes like Texas. They won’t be happy until all of us live in their shitty world.

My favorite quote from the WaPo article on the incident:

“When I heard those gunshots, I didn’t think anything of it because in this neighborhood everyone has guns. Every weekend you hear gunshots,” she said in an interview in Spanish. “People shoot in their backyards, after they drink alcohol, men take out guns at house parties and shoot the ground.”

Isn’t using a gun while intoxicated illegal?

Apparently so.

Seems a common problem, as the first 3 google hits were to lawyers who specialize in defending exactly such cases.

I assume he was drunk the other times the cops came out to talk to him. I wonder why they didn’t do anything.

Because…TEXAS.

The killer is being reported as a Mexican national. My point in questioning @PastTense is that it’s ridiculous to suggest based on no further evidence than that the victims were Honduran that the shooter was motivated by, “trying to do something about the migrant problem.”

I think PastTense was being wry or sardonic or some other I am not actually serious here mode of speech.

I’m quite sure your average gun supporter would applaud the death of any number of Hondurans. These were poor/undesirables who died, not real people. They probably wish they had done it.

You know I’m not even that big on gun control. I think there are lots of responsible people that like to collect, hunt, or compete, and I don’t really care as long as they are mature, careful and responsible.

But this guy should never have been allowed to have a gun, and the gun should have been taken from him long ago.

Its madness.

I am big on gun control because no one needs a fucking AR15. Guns are the number one cause of death in the US and pig fuckers are still not sold on the idea that we have a problem. America is a third world shit hole.

I am so sick of living in the country these monsters have built.

At the ground? Hell, that’s an improvement right there. I thought the preferred method of celebratorily discharging a firearm while intoxicated was into the air. That way you can get a body count when what went up came down.

I live in a place where it is very hard to get such a thing. And I don’t complain about it. If some one has one it is with a special permit and it gets kept in a locker or at the range and transportation has to be arranged with paperwork. Some kid or dude with angry bumper stickers just being able to go buy one is hateful of life itself.

People carrying around guns freak me out. I don’t care about someone out hunting or at the range. Carrying around a gun in normal life seems absolutely crazy to me. It speaks of fear, over compensation, and quite frankly bullying of strangers. Its fuckin nuts. I do not consider that responsible gun ownership.

Growing up in rural Alberta, pick up trucks often had a rack with a rifle in the back window. People hunted, or wanted to be prepared if they saw an animal they considered pests, or may need it for predators big predators. You dont see that any more. Guns have to be secured now. Still those were long guns, they might have been semi auto, but they were for hunting.

Not that there weren’t tragedies. My Dad watched a kid beside him get his head blown off in ‘hunter training’ when he was a teenager. My cousin was shot, lying in bed, by her drunken spouse after a fight one night. With a hunting rifle. Two hillbillies at our highschool graduation party chased down the class clown in a feild, beat him, and shoved a shotgun in his mouth to intimidate him. Horrific. Forty years ago rural Canada was not an enlightened place.

I do not think it compares to the absolute insanity of gun fetish in parts, at least, of the US currently. Its madness.

Greg Abbott has yet to make any kind of statement regarding the murders. I’m sure he’s desperately trying to read the tea leaves over how the base will react to a Mexican national killing Central American immigrants with a semiautomatic rifle. But he did tweet out a picture of his dog saying he was “all smiles for the weekend.”

Also in Texas, a college baseball player was shot by a stray bullet while standing in the bullpen.

Texarkana Texas Police Department spokesman Shawn Vaughn told the Texarkana Gazette it did not appear anyone at the field was the target of the shooting.

“Incredibly bad luck, bad place,” Vaughn said.

But he did make a super duper nice statement after all. Illegal Immigrants!

He’s an asshole and so are his supporters.

Wait, so the gunman was already known to authorities as drunk, armed, and bothersome, AND from what read in TX media had a prior history of deportations and reentries, so if someone bothered to cross-check on that they could have just taken him in as “repeat offender in possession of guns” before anyone got hurt? SMH

As we have learned, in Texas, popping rounds off in your backyard is a normal thing they do. This is something we have to learn to accept. You wouldn’t want to tread on our FREEDUMBSSS!!!

As stated in the other thread, why does this stupid fearful asshole even HAVE a doorbell?

If he’s that terrified of little girls in his neighborhood, he should either move, or set up barbed wire, metal fortifications, bars on the windows and a moat filled with shark with frickin laser beams on the top of their heads. And dogs that shoot bees out of their mouths.

Terrified little man.

Lacks the personal touch. /s

This just in on CNN:

The man accused of fatally shooting five people, including a mother and her 9-year-old son, at a neighbor’s home in Texas has been taken into custody after a dayslong manhunt, two law enforcement sources told CNN.

The arrest was made in the town of Cut and Shoot, Texas, according to a federal law enforcement source. Cut and Shoot is roughly 17 miles west of Cleveland, Texas, where the killings took place.

“Cut and Shoot, Texas”? Seriously?

Everything is on the internet…
