A teenage girl is hit with a blast from a gel-blaster water gun. Clearly, this calls for retribution by her father, so he shoots the guy with a handgun. The 18-year-old might be paralyzed for life.
This story could go in many threads, but it involves a moronic Trump supporter using his god-given rights, so I think this is the best spot. This moron likes to livestream himself antagonizing homeless people and when things go badly, he shoots one. I don’t think he can Rittenhouse himself out of this. On the plus side, looks like he may finally get to move out of his parents basement.
Charges were paraphrased as “shooting and injuring”. I wonder what the actual charge is. Seems like attempted murder to me.

I thought a well-armed society was polite? Looks like the well-armed society in my neck of the woods is filled with assholes.
I didn’t see a gun filmed; I did see the Cam-Hole spouting out a lot of well-practiced phrases that did not match what he filmed (reality?). I don’t want the 1st Amendment to change… that said I’d love if it was ruled not to cover Cam-Holes intent on starting fights for their YouTube hits (income?).
I hope/expect he’ll spend enough time in the slammer to start dissuading others. Assholes Rittenhouse and Zimmerman have emboldened this type of behavior.
What moves it towards schadenfreude is that both the assholes you mentioned it benefited from no direct recordings of their actions, so they played the benefit of the doubt card real hard.

May all who proudly record themselves as evidence of their “bravery” also fall afoul of the law and as much jail time as our legal system allows.
The boundary between brave and stupid can be difficult to discern at times. But, I continue to contend that guns have a tendency to make people stupid, so if guns are involved, you can prettymuch count out the bravery part.
Trigger-happy bystander just looking for a reason shoots and kills a teenager returning a toy gun to a sporting goods store. The teen had set the toy down and was showing empty hands at the time he was shot. He shot the teen seven times in the back. He was charged with second-degree murder. He was an off-duty security guard, but not at the store where this occurred.

Is there an actual purpose to a bump stock? I mean, an authentic, reasonable purpose?
I can only think of two (unreasonable) purposes:
