Stupid Mother#$#$ Title Company!!!

I once closed on two houses in the same day. :Shudder:

After you do it a few dozen times, though, it gets easier.

We close on our first house tomorrow (Wednesday). Any kind of delay and we would be SO screwed! We have agreed to repair everything ourselves (with the seller paying almost all the closing costs), and EVERYbody is coming on Thursday. The plumber, the phone guy, the pesticide guy, the movers, you name it. We still don’t know our final amount for the closing (small as it is). I feel for you Opal. I would just dissolve into a pile of tears… This has been one of the most stressful, frustrating evets of my life. I’m never moving again!!!

I’ve only one thing to say about the house-buying process - something that I am currently painfully going through (so many ancillary problems it makes my head spin) and something I also went through two years ago:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!

A year ago, we were in the selling/building mode - I was in Virginia dealing with the sale and my husband was in Florida dealing with the builder and the realtor here. Neither could be present for the other’s closing. At the same time, I was dealing with a moron here in FL who couldn’t get his head out of his ass long enough to do the paperwork for the job I was transfering to… but that’s another story.

Anyway, thanks to a couple of amazingly dedicated professionals in Virginia, the sale went thru just fine. And thanks to a husband who has little patience for idiots, the house was completed and closed 2 days later. And in another 3 years, we’ll do it again… I hate moving…

We’re in the house. Actually we got in the house on the day I made the OP! Our agent has been wonderful, and she managed to get the seller and selling agent to let us move in before closing. I haven’t been back to this thread because first off, we spent the first several days with no internet access… then there was the hooplah of closing, the chaos of having relatives in town, and also I’d forgotten about it. Now I finally have access to my email again (we finally got our local network back up) and all my “notification emails” letting me know which threads I wanted to follow helped me find this again.

I appreciate all the supportive posts… while having problems during closing isn’t something I’d wish on anyone, it still does make me feel better knowing I’m not the only one

PS, I have never carved anyone’s name into my arm, random or otherwise

We are in our house now, too. At least the boxes are! It
s wonderful to have a house of my own, but moving sucks. 10-15 years worth of pack-ratted unadulterated junk to go through. I thought I cleaned out a bunch before we moved, but there is so much still to go through that was in the attic and stuck back in closets. We were running out of time and my son and his friends packed and moved the remainder into the garage. Now it sits there, mocking me.
<sigh>

And this updates on my feelings towards the whole &^&! house buying process.

Maybe I shouldn’t bring this up…

I just bought AND sold a house in the past month.

Smooth as silk. Not a hitch. Didn’t even take much time.

(ducks and runs)

Sorry guys,

Blink

Oho, Blinker, think you’re so smart, huh? Well buddy, it’s just a matter of time.

As you post little happy thoughts all over these Boards, what you don’t know is that the rest of us are collecting the information.

Eventually, one day, all blissfully ignorant of the ammunition we have, you’ll decide to share some details of your life. Once we know that you are having a bad time we will all charge in and say “Grow Up” and “Get A Life!” and use what you’ve said against you.

THEN you’ll be sorry!!

[better insert smiley icon here so the lad/lass doesn’t think this is serious]

On the other hand, welcome to the Boards. Fun place, ain’t it?

Redboss

That does it. I’m renting for the rest of my life.
