My pet theory is that the whole time Qui-Gon was talking into a lady’s razor and everyone knew it but you don’t ever want to be on the bad side of a Jedi Master, especially one that’s clearly losing it.
That is what I conjectured in post #67. There are really no humans in any movie in the Star Wars franchise. The movies all take place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far way. It would be incredibly improbable for a species in such a time and place to look exactly like humans. Just as they have translated the language spoken to Modern English, they have “translated” the species of most of the characters to look and act like humans.
