Stupid things that bug you, or something.

You forgot to mention the yard or two of coupons, and, as applicable, the two rolls of quarters you asked for, which also form part of the pile. Sometimes I need both hands to hold it all.

This is also why I always use a cart even if I’m only buying a couple of items. After checking out, the cart gives me a nice little workspace to get all this stuff organized, throw out coupons I know I’m not using, put my ear buds back in, etc., etc.

Now if my local store would just stop blasting recent Top 40 pop oldies…

It’s also an oilfield thing. It began with drilling personnel being required to park backed-in at the rig site, on the assumption that if the well blew out, they could bug out with less chance of collision while they were doing so. It’s now become something of a fetish with the industry; some of the major service companies have a requirement for back-in parking written into their driving polices.

I fixed that by getting jumper cables with 15 foot cables.
