Both of those songs bug me to no end.
I can’t believe I forgot this one. It’s by a great but rather obscure Scottish band called The Trash Can Sinatras. Their lyrics are, by and large, among the cleverest I’ve ever heard, which makes the chorus to this otherwise lovely ballad all the more shocking:
“She’s a funny kind of girl,
Set sail on a ship in a bottle
She’s a funny kind of girl,
And do the Swiss fake it when they yodel?”
what were they THINKING???
