The fundamental question is what rules of epistemology we are to employ. Atheists use one, theists another. Theirs isn’t stupid unless one assumes the conclusion.
Do you think that terse unambiguity is a desirable or attainable standard for posting? Wouldn’t determining that create an needless burden on the moderating staff? I have no agenda in asking, I just want to clarify the point.

No-you are overthinking what he actually means. He is one of those “5 miles wide/5 inches deep” spiritualists that believes all claims are equally valid, even the ones that are contradictory. His mind is a bottomless pit of acceptance that rules out absolutely nothing when it comes to the paranormal. He will accept a claim as fact if he finds it written on the back of a piece of toilet paper found on the bathroom floor. If he says that atheists are right about there being no gods and that gods exist, he means exactly that.
He doesn’t believe in a god. He believes in the idea of a god, one who’s got his back.

Shrug - I never really understood all the vitriol lobbed at lekatt here. Echoing Larry Borgia, he’s a laid back guy with a very spiritual worldview, who has never said anything hateful or hurtful here… Nevertheless we have some people here that get enormous glee and expend enormous amounts of time and energy trying to bait him, catch him in contradictions or inconsistencies or statements that don’t jive with their own internal logic, love combing through his every statement to painstakingly analyze every aspect of how dumb it is, and then gleefully announce, “OMG do you see what he just said lulz ebel retard!1!!!”
The example given in the OP is particularly underwhelming. Really? You’re starting a pit thread over that statement? Really? I’m just not seeing it. From where I’m sitting it looks to me Czarcasm that you have too damn much time on your hands.
No doubt you know more about lekatt’s overall positions than do I, but the argument under discussion here (in particular, his disclaiming in various posts in the subject thread any obligation to prove God or Spirit exist, much less demonstrate where he/she/it came from) is very mainstream theism. On that point, my comment is apt.

I think it’s because in the past he’s had a habit of hijacking various threads to spread his “message”. I mean, if his beliefs bring him comfort, hey, that’s great and I’m happy for him. But he often interjects them where he’s not welcome.

The hatred built up several years ago with his hijacking of several threads to make insupportable claims. Early on he interrupted a number of threads to post irrelevant nonsense that was so incredibly wrong that his comments yanked the threads right off the rails.
It increased with his irritating habit of responding to facts–even facts taken from his own citations and links–by simply denying that the words posted said what they did.
As to “never said anything hateful or hurtful,” you are mistaken. He is a very effective passive-aggressive who has posted a number of back-handed insults over the years.
Now, I would tend to agree that he has backed away from a few of those actions, (partially under a staff enforced prohibition), and I suspect that simply ignoring him would reduce him to being less of a pest while reducing the blood pressure of several posters. Sadly, ignoring minor irritants is not a behavior that is widespread on the internet–and certainly not on the SDMB.

He’s back to (back to, still; take your pick which applies best for yourself) posting utter bullshit in this thread. My favorite was that he thinks that the moderator is telling him not to tell people that he loves them. The runner-up for most favorite lekatting (i.e., pure, unadulterated, bullshit) was this post about the US military. Later on in the thread, he asserts that he was an RM3 in the US Navy yet doesn’t get the description of the rate and rating correct. Does anyone actually believe anything that POS has to say, even that little bit of biographical “information”? In just a few short posts in that thread, he’s managed to show that he has no idea about the US military, the US military’s Chaplains in particular, and what the heck other people (mods) are saying to him. Oh, and he’s contradicted himself too.
