Subject: how to open a closed thread vs starting a new one with the same subject

Petition:
Mr Quatro now has follow up for the thread, “The Democrats will win their election”
but it is closed, Rather than start a new debate about the election would it be proper to open the old one?

I have new thoughts about the prophesy I shared that could shed light that it was from God … in todays reading of Oswald Chambers as follows: https://utmost.org/

God never speaks to us in dramatic ways, but in ways that are easy to misunderstand. Then we say, “I wonder if that is God’s voice?” Isaiah said that the Lord spoke to him “with a strong hand,” that is, by the pressure of his circumstances . Without the sovereign hand of God Himself, nothing touches our lives. Do we discern His hand at work, or do we see things as mere occurrences?

You need to be a mod to open a closed thread.
If you mean bump a thread, I have no idea how to do that.

Its a bit vague what you have in mind. Only moderators can unlock a thread, and I don’t yet see a compelling reason to open that one.

If you have a topic that you desire to witness about, then GD is the place for that. Feel free to reference via link to the thread I question if it’s necessary to provide context.

Or God. He could probably do it for you, Mr Quatro. True, He doesn’t have Mod Powers but He does have the next best thing, omnipotence and that might work in a pinch. It’s worth a shot. (Didn’t He used to be a member here? I don’t think He’s posted in a while though and to be honest I always found Him a little opinionated and arrogant.)

If the thread is closed, why not just start a new one and link to the thread or the specific post in the OP? You could even use the same title with “Part II” at the end.

Start a new one in the Pit. Pleeeeeease start a new one in the Pit!

The original thread was opened in the election thread and moved to the debate thread. Now I am being led to open a new thread in GD …

Seeing how you are the moderator that closed the thread … I presume the thread will stay closed. I wanted to answer the nay sayers questions, but a new thread would only open new ridicule that God does indeed talk to some people.

The prophecy did come from God and the prophecy was misunderstood … the Democrats did win the counted votes in the election for the POTUS … the electoral college was that knife.

If you’re a little skeptical of a mod closing your thread in GD. Remember, Miller very rarely closes threads in the Pit.

I gave you that answer back on 11/17/2016, thank you very much.

FWIW, it was meant as ridicule.

Annnd reopening the old thread prevents this how exactly???

CMC fnord!

I was wondering who did that, but I did not think it was a ridicule … how naive of me. I still have hopes of everyone not feeling the same way. Is there a higher authority to take this matter to … most respectfully I make this request.

Can’t you ask God to move Ed Zotti’s heart, the next time the two of you are chatting about politics?

Good luck to you Mr. Quatro.

And if god can’t turn Ed’s heart, may he turn his ankles, so we may know him by his limping.

So, to clarify, you are saying that you wish for God to make Ed Zotti limp?

Yeah I’m not getting that either.

: Slowly removes glasses then puts them back on again. :

And keep 'em on . . . 'cause I’m all out of bubble gum!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of the Moderators
I shall fear no banning, for though art with me.
My keyboard and my monitor, they comfort me.

That was my first thought as well; I believe its been done a time or two or more. The only problem I see, rereading that thread and reading this one as well, is that started in Elections as Mr Quatro wishes it will almost certainly end up either in the Pit or GD and probably result in another ATMB thread or so. It could make for some good reading though, so what the heck.
