Do they not exist anymore? I got a reminder… the day after my subscription expired. I know they use to send them a bit in advance. Has this been disabled?
Oh, another weirdness I just noticed. Even though my subscription lapsed, the title did not change. What is up with that?
I got the same thing - a reminder the day after my subscription expired. I thought it was a little odd, too.
Mine said it expired on May 10, but I thought I had renewed a few months ago. I was surprised, but I went ahead and renewed just to be sure. It’s easier to fix an extra renewal than none at all.
I got my reminder notice yesterday which was the day it expired. Of course, I had taken time to look at when my expiration would be since there was so much talk about accounts lately and when they’d go to “free”.
Not sure why the reminders went out late; usually it’s a week before. I don’t know why it happened like this.
The board runs a script that resets all expired subscriptions to guest status – it does this in a batch and it’s not exactly to the minute or sometimes even the day of expiration, as you have noted.
I have no idea when that script will run but I would bet it will be very soon. So this is perhaps a last minute chance for some of you who wish to retain Charter Membership. Once you’re reset to guest there’s nothing any of us can do to change you back should you have regrets.
What about those of us who never got a reminder? I checked my spam box, and it’s not there, either.
I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a subscription reminder.
(Obviously, I knew it was expiring, and remembered to re-up before it actually did expire, but I’m just saying. I’ve never been reminded to re-up.)
If you resubscribed early you would not get a reminder; it’s only those in the about to expire pile that get notified.
I did it Thursday night, and my sub was due to run out Saturday. That’s considered early?
I figured after midnight on Friday was when I’d lose posting privileges.

So those of us that have re-upped and currently show the coveted ‘Charter Member’ tag, don’t have to worry about losing it? (I know it’s silly, but I like seeing it there. Helps to compensate for the low post count).
