I am a member of Big Fish Games club and am a little frustrated with their search terms. I am looking for quest type games, such as the Drawn or Dream Chronicles or Aveyond series. When I try “adventure” games, I get a heap of hidden object suggestions. I have zero interest in playing Where’s Waldo. I tried “puzzle”, same result.
Does anyone have any direct suggestions on games I might enjoy, or indirectly how I can make the search terms work better for me?
Their search has been broken forever and all complaints to fix it have been met with “we’ll pass your suggestion on” and “we’re working on it” - for years. I’m over there too and have found some good quest type games under adventure or puzzle - but you have to drill through all the hidden object stuff to find them. Another place that I stumbled on by accident is time management category - surprisingly alot of the games in that category are more quest-like and not really time mgmt at all. So try looking there.
Try out Hero of the Kingdom or Northern Tale or Island Tribe 3 if you like time management, quest-type games.
There are quite a few games nowadays that are hidden-object/adventure combos. It sounds from the OP that you’re looking for adventure games that do not include a hidden object component—am I interpreting that correctly? Off the top of my head, “Azada: In Libro” and “Nightmare Adventures: The Witch’s Prison” qualify, I believe.
You might get better responses in The Game Room. I’ve notified a mod to suggest the thread be moved.
And while we’re at it, at the risk of hijacking the thread, if anyone has any game recommendations from among those available at Big Fish, even if they’re not what the OP is looking for, I’d be interested in seeing them.
Moved Cafe Society --> the Game Room.
The “Awakening” series plays almost the same as Drawn. There may be a few hidden object parts but they’re the same as Drawn.
I don’t recommend the Witches Prison. The story is entirely setup for a sequel, not answering any of the questions you actually had. (We got it for free in the November special.)
BTW, did you know that the license of Big Fish games lets you use the software on an infinite number of computers? That seems incredibly stupid to me. What’s the point in having DRM if people can still just easily all use the same account anyways?
Yeah, but where are you going to find an infinite number of computers, anyway?
