Suggestions for a personalized license plate?

So I’m pretty sure I’m getting a personalized license plate for this car I’m pretty sure I’m getting. Heh. I’m really just waiting on my income tax to come in.

Since this is my first car, my mom said she’d buy(or pay for, whateva) a personalized license plate for me. Now I just need help coming up with something. Suggestions?

My initals are DTL, but I really want a word of some kind.

How many letters are on your state’s plates?

DownTroddenLady

3 letters, 3 numbers is what my husband’s plates have, now if that’s for all of Arkansas, I don’t know.

Heh. I was unclear, this was for a regular license plate, not like an airbrushed one, or something like that.

I thought they were called personal license plates, but I’m probably wrong.

Well, that’s probably for standard-issue plates. You need to find out what’s allowed on vanity plates for your state (number of letters/numbers, number of spaces) before you choose a plate.

In WI it’s up to 7 letters/numbers, up to 2 spaces. (Standard plates have 3 numbers and 3 letters, in that order.)

What are your interests, hobbies, quirks, etc.?

All Arkansas specialty plates – varying numbers of characters.

Arkansas plain-vanilla personalized plates --looks like 7 characters, no spaces.

If fewer than seven characters are allowed:

SDMB
4 CECIL
4 C ADAMS
CITE (although this could be interpreted as a dare by law enforcement personnel)
RIO RIO (as a reference to the “That’s Rio by Duran Duran” running gag on these boards)
1920SDR (1920’s-style Death Rays reference)
ENSUES (as in “Penis Ensues”, since the first word of that phrase wouldn’t be allowed)

If Alabama issued a front license plate, I’d suggest “1N5VN3”.

Upside-down on the front of your vehicle, it would read “INSANE” to the drivers of cars you wish to pass.

Let’s see, hobbies etc… I love photography, writing, wire working, and Antonio Banderas. I’m a Stephen King fan as well.

Sternvogel I liked your thinking, I’ll have to consider some.

AmbushBug my husband would think that was a good thing

Hmmm… If you’ve got a Florida plate A55 RGY would make for an interesting plate.

I actually knew someone in Florida on my last job with a license plate of A55 FKL.

Your handle:
WOSCORN
WMNSCRN
DTLWOS

Dopeiana:
THEDOPE (then again, some might misinterpret that to mean you…)
STRDOPE
SDMBER
UNCACEC
TEEMING
MILLNTH
FOCECIL (“Friend Of”. Not what you’re thinking.)
IMADOPR (probably not gonna fly with the DMV)
3HIOPAL

Passions:
WIRFOTO
WIREWRT
WRTFOTO
STVKING
KINGRDR
TONYFAN
LUVTONY
BNDERAS
SKABFAN (SK + AB Fan)
DTLSKAB

Other:
DTLSCAR (what’s left after you peel off DTLSKAB?)

Stolen
None
4nik8r
2fast4u
Backoff
Imdrunk

Hmmm so many good suggestions.

I have to say if I could get away with it 4nik8er would be hilarious.

On the other hand seeing DTLSKAB, which I know is for my intials, Stephen King, and Tonio, it made me think of DTLSCAB.

Which made me think of DEESCAB and somehow I like it.

Be absolutely sure you want vanity plates!

The problem is that everybody remembers the plate - which may be your point, but I know people who have had them:

“Hey, saw your car parked at the porno shop the other day!”
“Wow, I didn’t know you stayed out so late - saw your car parked at the bar when I was coming home from late shift.”
“So you shop at KMart, eh? Saw your car parked there yesterday.”

(you get the idea)

Otherwise, I have to admit I have chuckled at a few, and have been puzzled by others. Fun to read when stuck in traffic.

SCORNFED

My CA plate used to read “EJS GIRL” until I started using it as my standard web username. Then it came off the car, never to return.

I saw one here that said “too black to handle.” It was 2BLK2(picture of a hand)L.

In CA, we can use +, a heart, or a hand as one letter.

The best vanity plate I ever saw was:

APOX ON U

This was in Wisconsin, which as mentioned above, allows two spaces in addition to the seven letters.

CA will let you slip in one 1/2 space, even if you use all 7 letters.
