The Millbrae Police Department is exploring whether camp officials broke any laws, said Steve Wagstaffe, chief deputy district attorney for San Mateo County. Police Sgt. Shannon Hagan said investigators are asking parents who feel they’ve been victimized to come to the station and fill out a consumer fraud document prepared specifically for this case.
“We need to determine whether the corporation knew that it was going out of business and continued to collect money anyway,” Hagan said.
