Offside rules changed recently? Bereensteyn wasn’t involved in the play so it doesn’t matter where she was. Maybe with a replay I could judge where the other attacker was, she could’ve been off as well.
They don’t need more players in Miedema. If you have two one needs to get up in her shit and the other providing cover. Both holding off is a recipe for disaster.
She was standing 4-5 meters in front of the center of the goal, it is hard to see how she would be not involved in the play. Besides, I believe she was not the only one standing offside.
US looks winded.
The ball was high and looping, she wasn’t screening anyone and didn’t challenge for the ball. Absolutely not involved.
If there was someone else off, that’s why I want more replays. NBC only showed one so I couldn’t get a good look as I was looking at Beerensteyn.

Now that she’s getting older it makes more sense, but I never understood Alex Morgan getting caught offside so often. She was always faster than the defenders, give half a body cushion and outrun them!

My understanding is that some Republicans have been cheering for the American women to lose in soccer, so even though I am already cheering for them, I really feel like this makes me want them to win gold even more.
Novak Djokovic has been knocked out of the tennis tournament. He can still win the Grand Slam this year, but no Golden Slam like Steffi Graf did in 1988.
Kudos to the American women. That was one helluva soccer match against the Dutch.
But the Americans need to figure out how to score without being offside.
