SMP #43 is dedicated to Jim G. of Park Ridge, Illinois.
This week’s challenge is yet another code. Fortunately, SDMB solvers have had several excellent cipher/cryptography puzzles over the past couple of weeks, so this should be as easy and pleasant as a walk in a gentle spring rain.
The mess of letters below, when decoded, will reward the solver with text written by UETTURUETSTUYWI ISIHATISILLLENI…and a bit more.
I thought I’d found a glitch when my deciphered message had a lot of W’s where there ought to be K’s, but when the question appeared, it was clear that everything was ISIUPITHE.
I’m going to have to triple my efforts to create the perfect cipher–because anything less difficult is no match for the likes of you. Wow!! You take the walk in the gentle spring rain, and I’m the one that’s all wet. Back to the drawing board!
Well now that the Oscars are over and I’ve finished consoling Russell (a dear boy, really, except for his unfortunate tendency to whine about the least little thing), I can get back to the really important things - like the SDMB and a Biotop puzzle!
Hmmm. Looks like I should have forgotten Russell and talked to Woody Allen instead. After all, he did write the book, Without Feathers.
Oh well, since those other two turkeys, Peregrine and MonkeyMensch, have already made their acceptance speeches, I may as well go back to Russell. Poor little chick; he is very down about the whole thing.
I think you two should join Peregrine on a national decoding team if they ever make it an Olympic event. I thought the trick in this code would be hard to figure out, but you all just gobbled it up.
I could advise anyone else still working on this puzzle to remain positive and “keep looking up”…but somehow that just doesn’t seem appropriate.
