Super Bowl 2008

It’s funny you should say that; I actually only caught about five minutes of the first half and saw three critical calls that were quite obviously wrong and all in the Giants’ favour. I thought “Huh - the officiating is always pretty bad, but isn’t that strange” and then we ended up watching “Battlestar Galactica” until almost the end.

Still the Giants scored 14 of their points in the fourth quarter and so the horrible calls I saw didn’t help with that.

That was fun.
I watched the whole game and didn’t see any bad calls.

Outstanding! '72 Dolphins live on.

I thought they said he tried to run out there when there was still a second left and they made him leave the field. I think congratulating the other team is bullshit anyway. I say fuck the other team. If anything, Belichick should have done that spit palm thing.

??? You’re joking right?

GO GIANTS!!!

The way I see it, Spygate may have unleashed a brickhouse’s worth of Karma landing on the Patriots, the Vikings are always fun to watch, and the mystique of the '72 Perfect Season is, medically speaking, the only thing keeping Mercury Morris alive at this point.

I do so want to see a shot of some aging ‘Fins sharing a toast, and/or sending over a few cases to the Giants’ locker room. It would be a classy thing for them to do.

It’s not sour grapes. I’m a Vikings fan. I didn’t care who won. I’ve just made an objective observation this year that the zebras are out to screw the Patriots. Especially Moss. Defensive backs have been given license to hang all over him like they’re his girlfriends all year and he can never get a PI call.

The Giants won fair and square, and it was a really fun game. Sorry you were too caught up in the bitterness and resentment to enjoy it, Dio. (Given your posts earlier, it’s hard to believe you didn’t care who won.)

Okay Diogenes
I’m a Patriots fan too.
Yeah, I think that coach congratulation stuff is bullshit.
Anyway both teams played a damned good game.
It’s Don Shula who deserves a kick in the ass.
I think he started complaining about the Patriots perfect streak when they reached 4 or 5 victories. What an asshole.

Hey, can I get a refund on my book order?

Eli is very cute right now. He still looks like he doesn’t believe it. He definitely deserves the MVP for that last drive alone–it was incredible.

Complete BS. The penalty count was 5-4. With 36 and 35 penalty yards awarded respectively. The penalties were a complete non issue. To even bring it up is pathetic.

I have a feeling that children in Africa will soon be receiving shipments of over-sized “Patriots Perfect Season” t-shirts.

Man, good game. The Giants just played better, especially on defense.

They were 18-0 and up against a team that, statistically, they should have ripped apart limb from limb, one of the worst teams - if not absolutely the worst team - to ever appear in a Super Bowl. They led going into the fourth quarter and led with less than a minute left, and they blew it.

Of course the Giants deserved to win, but the Patriots choked, and they choked big time, and deserve to be called chokers. They came out defendinga perfect season, put on a subpar, uninspired effort, STILL had a lead, and blew it. If that ain’t a choke, I don’t know what is.

Karma for what? They didn’t do anything wrong. The rule is bullshit. Every team videotapes signals and it confers no significant advantage. It wasn’t “cheating,” like so many people keep saying. NE has just been getting swiftboated because they’re better than everybody else.

Really? Gloating over a good season over thirty years ago is classy? And then giving a “prize” to a completely different team that still allowed them to hold on to their one fucking claim to fame is classy? Even though the team that got beat STILL won more games than you? That’s classy? Sorry, class would be congratulating both teams. Congrats to the Patriots for having the most wins of any football team in one season ever, and congrats to the Giants for winning the Super Bowl. They both deserve praise, and any member of the '72 Dolphins who is suddenly a big Giants fan is also suddenly a big douche.

Okay, 2 chicks are going done on each other on the ‘L Word’.
Can’t type with one hand.

That was as good a game as any I’ve seen for a while. I was rooting for New England, but New York just plain out-played them. So much for my local paper’s prediction that New England would win it 41-10.

That was the first football game I’ve ever watched. It was sorta interesting.

But even I was surprised at the winning touchdown. The guy was down there, all alone, just waiting for whatshisname to chuck him the ball, and he did and then he did. He caught it. Good work, I say.

Did the Patriots choke? I don’t know, but I thought they were outplayed.

(I didn’t really watch every single minute, but when I did look, it looked to me like the Giants were trying harder.)
