It would’ve been easy if it had been the Saints against the Patriots.
Now it’s sorta like Alabama vs. Clemson, trying to decide between Famine and Pestilence.
If the Rams win, then there’ll be endless nauseating crap about the Boy Wonder Coach and the Wonderful Young Quarterback.
If the Patriots triumph, we’ll hear tons of bullshit about the godlike Brady and the marvelous Patriots dynasty.
Yeah, I suppose it’d be minimally more tolerable if L.A. won.

Ulfreida:
I’m rooting for all the people who go bicycling on the emptied streets, the people who meet to work on their knitting projects together, and all the people who say, “Superbowl? That’s today? That’s a football game, right? I’ve heard of it … somewhere.”
If it doesn’t interest you, why post about it? Let people enjoy the things they enjoy.

Yeah, there’s a term for that: threadshitting.
I will never root for the Patriots because of the way Belichick dumped the Jets to become their head coach. Zero class.

So, we did (sort of) get a meteor hitting the stadium at halftime, at which point the score was nearly as low as it’s possible to be. Did that make you guys happy?
For me it was closer than I could realistically expect it to be so yes, I’m happy.

Insofar as I am rooting for anyone, I was rooting for the Patriots, because a win would make my dad happy.
I was rooting for the pigs.

Having now lived in New England for over 25 years (more than half my life), and having been a Patriots fan since 1997 or so, I was rooting for the Patriots, of course.
Ironically, the first Super Bowl I ever paid attention to was a decade earlier in 1986, when I was living in the Chicago area (as a teenaged Army brat in high school). I jumped on the Bears bandwagon, and celebrated their blowout victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl XX.
The Patriots average margin of victory over their 11 SBs is about -3. That Bears SB was not good for them, nor did the loss to Green Bay help. But, at least they are 6-5 overall.
Seeing as when I was born we LIVED in Foxboro, and I grew up in the town next to it (Walpole), within earshot of the stadium(s), it was Pats all the way for me.
Crappy game, but I liked the end result.

Didn’t want to start a new thread, but it looks like Bob Kraft partied a little too hard:
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft charged with soliciting prostitution in human trafficking probe
The owner of the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, Robert Kraft, is being criminally charged with soliciting prostitution at a spa in Florida, where surveillance video showed him receiving sexual services, police said Friday.
Kraft, 77, is one of more than two dozen people being charged in a police sting in Florida as part of a probe of human trafficking, authorities in Jupiter, Fla. said.
“He is one of the individuals. That would be Mr. Robert Kraft,” a top police official said at a press conference.
“He is being charged with the same offense as the others, and that is soliciting another to commit prostitution,” the official said.
“We’re as equally stunned as anyone else,” the official said, referring to Kraft’s alleged crime, which is a misdemeanor.
Kraft is a friend of President Donald Trump, who last month noted that he had signed four bills to support efforts to eradicate human traffickers, whom the president said committed “heinous crimes.”

Just…what - the - fuck?!
I was actually kinda half-way expecting this to be a joke. My mouth was literally agape when I opened the link.
Unbelievable.
Yeah, listening to sports talk radio here in Boston. Kraft’s home in Brookline is surrounded by the press.
Just to clarify, he’s been charged with being a customer, not being a trafficker. Not that that’s a whole lot better.

Adam Schlefter (sp) just said on SpurtsCenter (sorry. not.) that Kraft isn’t even the most famous person caught in this bust.
Also, the place happens to be 20 minutes from Mar-A-Lardo
