Now that it’s set, where do you stand on the Pats vs. Giants thing?
Giants. Sure, I’m a bit of a homer, but here’s my thinking:
-Pats are good, but their record was made against less than average teams (except the Ravens.)
-Brady isn’t very mobile and the Giant’s D Line should cause him grief.
-Patriots secondary is vulnerable against big plays and Cruz, Nicks and Manningham should be able to make some plays.
-On the flip side, the Pats’ TEs scare the hell out of me.
-Giants 27 Pats 24
I grew up in New England and now live in New Jersey. If it were any other team, I’d root for Big Blue. But I have to hope the Pats will win.
Giants, without any particular preference. I just think they are the better team right now. Manning is playing better than Brady, their defense is better and it is so eerily like 2008 (even though I don’t REALLY believe that stuff) - going on the road to beat a 13-3 team in OT after a turnover - that I just think the Giants will win.
I chose, “I like the Patriots and they’re going to win,” because, well, I like the Patriots and I *want *them to win. But Eli Manning is a frickin’ clutch game-winning machine. He scares the shit out of me.
I don’t have an emotional bias toward either team, I think the Patriots will win because they utterly demolished Tebow the God-botherer and Co. in their game, whereas the Giants just barely squeaked through to a win in their game.
Not to pee on your Wheaties, but if the Raven’s place-kicker didn’t have a club foot, the Pats might be polishing up their golf clubs right about now.
I have no preference because I dislike both teams, but the Giants seem to have fewer holes. Heck, the Pats’ D made Joe Flacco look good.
I’m a big Giants fan. I put $50 on them to win it all in Vegas last year the day after the Super Bowl. I didn’t really expect the bet to come through. Gotta stick with them to th end.
The Tebow game was two games ago. The Pats “just barely squeaked through to a win in their game” yesterday.
I’m kinda rooting for the Giants. But I have no clue who will win.

I never said I had GOOD reasons for favoring the Pats.
Like the Giants more than I hate the Patriots. Giants win by 7.

I have sufficiently-poor knowledge of football to not have a clue who’s more likely to win, and I don’t care all that much about either team, one way or the other. But to the extent that I do care, I prefer the Patriots to the Giants-- I can’t enjoy watching a game without rooting for someone.
Short memory? Brady looked awesome against Denver.
More importantly, the New England defense looked great against both Denver and Baltimore. I think they’ll be able to put a lot of pressure on Manning. The offensive line needs to protect Brady a lot better than they did the last time these two teams played in the SB.
…and, in his own words, “sucked badly” against the Ravens. I think the Giant’s defense is closer to Baltimore’s right now than Denver’s.
I think that may actually be advantage New England. I can’t remember the last time Brady followed a bad game with a bad game
