Super Bowl XLV

I don’t understand this logic. Even if it was just that the Packers sucked less, doesn’t that still mean they were better?

So Favre is still winning games for Green Bay? I guess that explains Minnesota’s record.

I like to say, half-joking but half not, that Trent Dilfer has as many rings as Peyton Manning and Dan Marino put together. The standard “yeah, well” response is that he managed a team with a great D and a great running game. But with Big Ben, it’s always “well, his numbers are mediocre but he has the rings.” I don’t get it.

Imagine what he would have looked like if Woodson hadn’t been knocked out and Shields hadn’t missed a bunch of plays. Roethlesberger is good but not great.

Good game, Steelers had a chance on their last possession. Kudos to the Packers and their fans.

He won at least one for the Packers this year.

Protip: if there are skidmarks on your jock you’re wearing it wrong.

I meant to point this out last time and I forgot. Sorry.

Oh, and Ha Ha!

I only think they do it for Packers games. The breaks they gety from teh officials are well outside anything that would be expected for standard variation. I sincerely believe that the league tells officials to take care of the Packers. It’s the obnly conspiracy theory I believe in (except for both Bush elections).

Interesting to see there are crazy conspiracy theories in the world of sports too. I thought that was mostly a political thing.

Go Pack, way to represent. NFC in da house! That’s three of the last four Superbowls, baby.

Agreed.

Regarding your predictable meltdown, specifically where you discuss Favre, you do realize that you slurp Favre’s jock far more than the announcers ever did, and that you spent years railing against the announcers for slurping Favre’s jock. You’re aware of that, right?

Second, Favre held the Packers organization back. If Rodgers sat his whole rookie year and then started in his second – in 2006 – I think the Packers would have beaten the Giants in 2007 and gone on to win the Superbowl. Instead, Favre hung around too long and choked it away.

Melt, Dio.

Meeeeeellllllllt.

Leaving aside the opinions of people who’re drunk…

… that was the worst Super Bowl played in some time, wasn’t it? Both teams looked sloppy, called plays poorly, and seemed panicked for almost the entire game.

It makes me sick that the Packers won, but they are about 100 times classier than the Steelers who I can’t stand either so I’m coping ok. That they held on with some many injuries to the defense is commendable even if the butterfingers crew did their best to let the Steelers back in. I can take some solace in the anti-Favre sentiment that Rodger’s win will probably generate though I have to hope this doesn’t trigger another Packer QB planting himself firmly in the Bears side.

If only the Bears had won that fucking Week 17 game…

Is **Dio **making Green Bay’s win even better for anyone else?

Dio, you make my night.

On that note, to all the true Steelers fans, good game by your team.

To Dio, HA HA HA HA!!!

And goodnight.

I wish I could disagree with you but it’s true. I would say Ben is borderline great but he isn’t great like Brady and Manning are. Where he shines is on third downs. He’s a master on third downs but he struggles against pure zone coverages and until he overcomes that he won’t be discussed with the elite QBs. He can mask his zone weakness with the pump fakes but he’ll never overcome it because he just isn’t that kind of quarterback. He is tough and he is a winner though (most of the time) so that still isn’t too bad.

The only reason the Fudgepackers even got into the playoffs is because of two bad touchdown calls against the Vikings (two calls which the league admitted were bad). That unearned, 14 point swing gave that Fudgepackers an illegitimate win againstthe Vikings, and that win got them into the playoffs. Packer fans all know in their hearts that this is not a genuine title,…or at least they will if they ever sober up.

Ok, I know I said goodnight, but talk about drunk posting…

Packers earned those turnovers. And of we want to talk about giving it away, how about all those dropped passes.

Yes, I’m aware of that, and I don’t care. Favre is my favorite player ever, and he was even when he was with the Packers. I just wish Packer fans would be intellectually honest enough to still acknowledge everything he did for them. Now they act like he was Trent Dilfer. He was the best player that Packers have ever had. Do any Packer fans really want to deny that?

They earned them by Ben throwing the ball directly to Packers D-backs?
