Super Bowl XLVII Thread

I caught a bit on the news about one of the Atlanta cheerleaders getting kicked from the squad because she’d gained 2 pounds? Did I hear that correctly? 2 pounds?

Well, we’re off to a good start with the national anthem. I’m not the world’s biggest Alicia Keys fan, but that was a damn fine performance.

Agreed

The ASL guy signing the anthem almost collapsed from exhaustion trying to hold his arms up that long.

For the Ravens, Lewis won one and Boldin (Arizona) and Brendon Ayanbadejo (Bears) both played in one.

OK, apparently I’m in the minority as far as the anthem was concerned.

OK that was a clumsy start.

Has anyone started an ad thread already in CS?

Can someone explain that first penalty to me? What was the illegal procedure?

Two very costly penalties for the Niners.

I think the tight end counted as line man because a receiver didn’t step back and as such couldn’t go on a pass route.

Eligible receivers are anybody in the backfield, as well as the two guys farthest from the center who set up on the line of scrimmage. In that case, both the TE and the WR outside of him set up at the line of scrimmage, so the TE wasn’t eligible.

Bad play design or timing. That was a TD to Moss if Crabtree doesn’t block it.

Very good sequence downfield for the 49ers but that sack at the end was a beaut.

Broken play, I think. I’m pretty sure Kaepernick was trying to throw it to Moss in the back of the end-zone, though.

When they were presenting players that were inducted into the Hall of Fame, did anyone else catch that it appeared that Larry Allen threw out a gang sign?

Good game so far. I hope Flaccid keeps making those kinds of passes.

The Ravens’ pocket looked easy to pick there…

So the Ravens aren’t doing too well when it comes to stopping Vernon Davis.

Liking the Niners clearly targeting RayRay in coverage.

Kind of a sloppy game so far, reminds me of the Super Bowl blowouts of the 1990s. I wonder if all the Ray Lewis, brother bowl, and gay teammates hype had an effect this year.
