Super Groups of The 80's

Asia was touted as a supergroup in the 80s.

Apparently you weren’t paying attention. I heard them on the radio all the time.

If you mean groups that started/broke big in the 80’s and lasted quite a while, I think these qualify:
Metallica
Guns N’ Roses
Culture Club
Devo
Duran Duran
Tears For Fears
INXS
REM

I meant the Stones. Typo.

What other famous bands were the members of the Beatles in before the Beatles? (I mean famous at the time, not retroactively.)

If you scroll up to an earlier post you will see that was not a criterion I was using.

Did the spiral cause them to go 'Round and 'round perhaps?

Yes, but they were soon back for more

Looks like y’all don’t listen to country music.

Using the “hugely popular” definition of “super group” and not the “guys from other bands” definition of “supergroup,” one of the greatest '80s super groups – of any genre – was Alabama.

While Boston started in the 70s and helped drag music back from the disco abyss, it could be argued that they were also a supergroup in the 80s. The 3rd Stage album was their most successful, and they were a major touring force despite their legal woes.

Oh, thanks a lot, you ass… I probably hadn’t heard that song in 25 years, and now it’s stuck there…
