Super Tuesday Super Thread

Let’s discuss the results as they come in tonight.

I believe Georgia is first for the Dems. Should be an easy Obama state. But will it be like South Carolina? Or will Hillary pull closer, even win?

Anyone know a website that has the whole shebang in one place (preferably with good maps) instead of having to go to 22 different pages?

An hour and 10 minutes ---- I can handle it.
I predict Obama comes away with at least 3 out of 5 New England states…

This site always seems to be the most current: Election Center 2008: Primary Results by date - Elections & Politics news from CNN.com

CNN calls GA for Obama on exit polls.

Thanks!

69%?! I had no idea they were predicting anything close to that. Even though it’s probably mostly wrong, that’s still incredible. Can’t wait to find out the rest…

Exit polls show that Obama will win GA by more than he won in SC.

69/28 among males, 65/33 among females.

Clinton only won by 54/43 among whites, and he won among white males. That bodes well, I think.

I’m not sure how long I can watch CNN. The next person who talks about missour-ah is going to make me kill someone, or change the channel, it’s 50-50.

The Clintons are very very popular over here due to Bill’s pivital role in the peace process in the north. When he came here as President it was truely stunning to see the reaction. When a certain more recent President came over they had to surround him with a ring of steal. How feelings change

That said this Irishman is hoping for a Obama win. He is a exciting man. One I have great hopes for.

00:12 here. Drinking some Jameson and gonna hang around for the next few hours hoping for a surge.

GO BAMA!

I know this was just a typo but it really seems appropriate given the politician in question…

I’m flicking between BBCNews 24, Skynews, CNBC and CNN. All the Euro 24 news shows are covering this in much the same way and nearly as wall to wall as the US channels I have access to.

I’ll be staying awake for a few extra hours to see how things go. I’m also hoping for an Obama win. Good luck to him and his supporters.

TPM’s done a good job posting up to date numbers for primaries this cycle.

I didn’t realize the exit polls also get updated throughout the night, so the numbers I gave above will be a little off.

Since no one’s mentioned it, Huckabee takes West Virginia, and Romney is pissed:

So what? I can’t be the only one who got a good chuckle out of this today.

That’s actually kind of depressing. It was bad enough when the furners saw how wierd our actual election is, but now I’m gonna have to try to explain the inexplicable clusterfuck that the nomination process is too.

This foreigner is confused but curious. It’s a very different system from what we have. Wikipedia is used alot for terms like super-delegates and caucuses.

Apart from the system the “culture” is also very different, I wonder when USA will have an atheist party candidate. And of course even the most left wing by US standards would be considered right wing in pinkocommiesocialist-Sweden.

I read on CNN.com that Florida doesn’t have any democratic delegates this time around because of not allocating delegates. It seems harsh for the voters there?

Is it possible to be a registered voter for both parties so you can choose a candidate in each party?

“Unfortunately, this is what Senator McCain’s inside Washington ways look like: he cut a backroom deal with the tax-and-spend candidate he thought could best stop Governor Romney’s campaign of conservative change,” said Beth Meyers, Romney’s campaign manager in a statement.

Wow, now that’s a buzzword heavy sentence.
