Superbowl 53 game thread

Could only do it once; I think they only had one-time out. But what have you got to lose? His first kneel was more iffy than usual, plus he lost yardage so the next one was going to be even stickier.

What are you saving that time out for? Christmas? I bet Belachick would have done it.

They only used 1 timeout in the first half, which was right before NE gave up the ball on downs with just over a minute to go. They had two left, which makes the decision not to call timeout even more puzzling.

Halftime. I had no idea who any of those acts were.

I agree, but this isn’t good defense, it’s just bad offense.

The QBing is pretty awful, but both teams are doing a great job stopping the run. The Pats have played excellent coverage, and the Rams gameplan and tackling have severely limited the Pats O. Both teams are playing very good defense.

So far, all of the offense in this game has been Julian Edelman.

Hey, we finally have something exciting. A new record for longest Superbowl punt.

Saw this on my Twitter feed.

I saw a similar tweet that was better phrased: “Both teams are playing like they know the winner has to go to the White House.”

Looks like the Rams are finally putting a drive together.

Fun game (I love defense) but horrible halftime show.

Great play by McCourty to save a Td. Followed up by a sack to make them settle for a field goal.

3-3 at the end of three quarters… well, that’s different

I was really expecting a 40-30 type of game

At least it isn’t a blowout. I always hated those Superbowls that were over before halftime.

Finally a touchdown with 7 minutes to play in the game.

Over/Under was 56 points. The Under is looking pretty good right about now.

Wonder if someone in the NFL main office spoke to Belichek: “No, Bill, this is the Super Bowl. You’re not going to wear that crappy sleeveless hoody in the Super Bowl.”

Well, that was unenjoyable.

That intercept sure seems to have caused a change in momentum.

So who’s the MVP?

Edelman.
