I watched it earlier this evening and was very pleasantly surprised. I’ve been watching Agents of Shield and Agent Carter and Daredevil and a bit of Gotham, and the idea of a superhero show that’s fun seems like a brilliant innovation (I’ve heard the Flash does the same thing–that’s on my list to try at some point).
I have high hopes for it.
I wasn’t thrilled when I first heard about it but the trailer makes it look worth giving a shot. It sounds like it’s being produced by the same people who do The Flash & Arrow and that’s promising. Does it take place in the same continuity as Arrow & Flash? Crossovers? Will this tie Arrow & Flash in with Superman somehow?
I love a good superhero movie, and this looks just fine.
Holy cow, that looks awesome. There’s no way that my girls and I aren’t watching that as soon as possible.
I’ve been a serious Supergirl fanboy for decades, and I can’t wait for this series. As mentioned, it looks fun.
Cute. I’ll let 12-15 episodes air and see how the reviews are.
I’m old school so I hate that she doesn’t have a Secret Identity. Other than that, it looks fun.
Oh. It’s a TV series and not a movie?
I have to confess this is something I don’t understand. Why not just try it and see whether you like it yourself or not, instead of letting other people decide if it’s worth your time?
Full disclosure: I’m an old party who is not one to binge watch anything, when I watch TV I do it when broadcast or in reruns if necessary. So this may just be a generational/technological difference. Not intending to cast aspersions.
Correct, it will be a new series.

This is horrifying…she looks just like my 24 year old daughter. Except her nose is a little blobbier. How can I justify my childhood Classic Supergirl crush?
Looks fun, though there’s something about the delivery of her narration that’s a bit… off sounding to me. It reminds me a bit of Harrison Ford’s hokey ass voiceovers in Blade Runner actually.
Nice. Real Nice. I hope we get it here.
Holy crap. That looks like it’s going to be so fun!
Looks ok. Glad it’s a TV show though, and not a movie. Supergirl is just too silly to fit into the current Superman movie franchise world. Plus I hope the whole ‘girl power’ thing is kept at bay, it could get cliche quickly. Biggest thing I didn’t like about it was Ally McBeal. Her character seems ridiculously catty and stereotyped.
Help a comic newbie out with timelines and whatnot: She’s a little girl when she leaves Krypton, and Kal-El is a baby, but yet she’s younger than Superman on Earth?
And where’s Superman in all this? He seems to have long established himself on Earth, which would make me think he’s older, and would still be around…
Well, she did grow up on a section of Krypton that was blown off intact when the planet exploded (comic books, I know). As for the age thing, she may have spent some time in suspended animation.
With something as unique as superpowers, I don’t think it takes too long to establish yourself. It very well could have been half a year. She definitely seems to “know more” than Clark does without external aid. She remembers her house’s emblem without help, she knows Kal-El is her cousin etc. It seems like she made a conscious decision to be “normal”, but her cousin daring to save lives inspired her to be more.
Looks bloody awful. And the Rom Com sound track makes it worse.
