Supergirl

Yup. He also produces Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. In fact, the CW passed on Supergirl because when it was pitched, they had The Flash in development and didn’t want to commit to yet another superhero show at the time. And even though the CW is a separate network, it’s co-owned by CBS and Warner Bros., which owns the DC properties.

Every time they show one of those my one and only thought is “WHERE DO THEY POOP???”. If that’s the humane treatment I’m afraid to ask what have they being doing to super criminals on supergirl so far.

I thought of something else; it was great that Barry remembered how to make the earbud things to work against Banshee, but why did Kara forget that water worked against Livewire? And why didn’t anyone else remember, or Barry figure that out? There are some villains who it might be more complicated to defeat, but a electric villain it isn’t hard to figure out. And I would think that for every villain that someone at the DEO would be keep notes of how they were defeated, so if they get loose again, or a similar bad guy arises, they’d know what to do. I guess that was purely so the firefighters could save the day and the city could like Supergirl again.

Yeah, it was definitely rushed. This would have been a perfect time for a two part episode, that would have given them a bit more time to become friends, hang out and compare powers, and try to get Barry home.

Well at least with the cells in the Flash, there’s a back wall that looks like it maybe could hide a bed or toilet or something. But with Supergirl, it’s literally a glass case.

I loved this episode for the team-up between Supergirl and the Flash, except that I agree with some comments above that the villains were pretty terrible. Siobhan’s makeover into ‘Silver Banshee’ was so over-the-top and ridiculous. Did she get cheek implants? And ‘fright’ contact lenses… and that makeup.

There’s a lot to like about the show overall. Most of the actors are good in their roles. Melissa Benoist is just great as Supergirl (and even better as Kara), and I’ve actually grown to really like Flockhart as Cat. Still not digging this take on ‘James’ Olsen, though, and the romance between him and Kara seems forced. The visual effects are good, and the overall production design is well done. Unfortunately, the writing seems to be the weak point much of the time.

Finally saw the Flash crossover - loved the chemistry between the two, hate the Olsen relationship, but just one question…

How the ever-living, mini-skirted, caped fuck did Siobhan sucker-punching Supergirl result in anything other than a broken hand for her?

damn good question.

I had the same reaction - I suppose I can handwave like this: Kara has spent a decade learning not to injure everyone who bumps into her (by withdrawing away from contact, I guess), and still tends to use that technique even when it’s not appropriate, but that’s not a completely satisfactory solution.

I just checked the DC wiki on this character: Silver Banshee is super strong. It’s possible that the aunt doesn’t know this and so didn’t mention it. Either Siobhan instinctively knew she could effectively hit Supergirl, or else was so angry that she wasn’t thinking.

I know!

Not to mention, Cat still recognized her. Whereas, if she’d just slipped on a pair of glasses and maybe changed her hairstyle, she’d be totally unrecognizable…

Which brings up a very tiny point I have with this show: all the dark-haired women look, well, almost exactly the same to me. Kara’s mom and aunt, her sister, Siobhan and all of the female villains, all of 'em, have the same strong faces with brows and cheekbones and perfect skin. The casting director has one type, I think.

Well, they’re both played by the same woman, so they do look exactly the same (except one has a streak in her hair.)
And doesn’t everyone on tv have cheekbones & perfect skin?

I… did not know that. :smack:

You have a point, but… I’m not complaining! Those are some beautiful women.

Especially those attractive yet non-threatening racially-diverse casts on the CW.

Apparently you and the casting director have the same type.

I like all types. Well, not all. But a lot of types.

But, yeah, dark hair and strong features is my favorite type.

You’re that guy who doesn’t know that the same actress plays all the clones on Orphan Black, aren’t you?

“The strength of ten men”, is what I heard. Should not have been enough, IMO.

Couple of episodes ago, with the fort roz guard that goes all star chamber on escaped prisoners, when the DEO folks were talking about it, they mentioned an intergalactic bounty hunter, and Jonn goes oh not him.

Exactly who would that have been.

Declan

I’m guessing Lobo. Cause he would be lots of fun to have on the show.
