Given the fact that my work 'puter is in a photo dark room, & the utter indifference of many of my cow-orkers (no typo), it is a very real possibility that I could sit here for at least 24 hours before I was found.
Up to 4 hours at home, tops.
Right here, in the middle of a crowded computer lab, immediately.
At home, probably not until I didn’t turn up to teach my classes, which could be anywhere from zero to three days.

Let’s just say he wouldn’t be the only one who was stiff.
I’d be noticed missing in 5 minutes. I can’t go to the bathroom around here without someone wanting to know where I am.

For me, it would likely be at least a week. My cellphone would ring, but since I don’t really know anybody within 100 miles of here, nobody would be checking the house for a while. If I didn’t already have plans to be travelling in the coming weeks, then it would easliy turn into a month. Scary.
Well, as it turns out, she decided not to come round, and just emailed me instead.
So my corpse would still be slumped over the desk, with blood pooling the keyboard.
Right now, I’m in my office with the door closed, so it might be tonight, when the cleaning guy comes around.
If I were at home at the moment, it would be practically immediate, because my sister’s living with me temporarily.
But on a normal day at home, sans sister, it could be a week or two before my co-workers got concerned enough to come looking. I like to imagine they’d find my sad kittens curled up next to my body, but in reality, they’d probably be eating my lips off or something.
About 5-10 minutes- my brother, mother, and dog are in the next room. Less, if I die from non-natural causes because the dog would hear the murderer.
I wouldn’t be noticed here at my desk until tomorrow morning.
But then, I’d still have showed up for work.
Probably in a couple hours when my roommate comes back from dinner. Less if she wonders why I’m not down there and calls the room and gets no answer.
At work tomorrow morning because I’m usually the last to leave.
At home, maybe 3 days because my boyfriend’s out of town til then.
If I got killed outside the house and work then I would be assumed to have just picked up and left and no one would would ever find out I was murdered.
Most of the time, I could not go 20 minutes as a stiff without being discovered. I’m rarely at home without Mrs. RickJay, and at work people need my help all the time.
I am at work. Alone. We don’t open until Wednesday.
So. I would congeal for about 36 hours before I was found.
Very depressing.
On the plus side of me suddenly dropping dead, the intelligence level would possibly go up in my posts.
Another Doper in a crowded computer lab. Lets see:
- 15 seconds for the knife weilding pyscho to enter the room and make their intentions clear.
- 45 seconds of gallent struggle - or me running around shoving men, women and children out of the way and screaming like a little girl.
- 0 seconds of me lying down with a serious bout of death.
So, about a minute all up.
at work it would be immediately
at home it would be under 15 minutes
About 10 minutes. That’s when my roomie will be coming out of his room again to complain that he’s hungry.
Hmm, I suppose it depends how I fall. My grandmother can’t get into my bedroom so I might lay here until tomorrow when my sister visits. If not for her I might have to wait until the weekend. My cat might start in on me by then.
If I fell in the living room or kitchen then it would be at least several hours, maybe even a dozen. My grandmother doesn’t leave the bedroom very often.
