Suppose somebody murdered you right now,...

Shadez is in the room right now, so I’m thinking it’d be pretty much immediate.

However, if she wasn’t, or if I were to be killed outside the room…one night, and there’d probably be worrying, two and there’d be suspicions. My fiance’d call after about 2-3 days of hearing nothing, and, worse-case. . .well, say I’m on the way home to surprise my family and my fiance, and I forgot to tell Shadez that I was going (which’d never happen), 3 days.

Right now? Eight hours.

At work immediately, if not sooner. My cube is directly (say 5 feet) outside of my two bosses’ offices.

At home, my 6 yr old would notice something was wrong in about 20 minutes when she wanted a snack.
[sad]
My mom died at around midnight 3 years ago (Sept 11, 2000). She had cancer and had been undergoing chemo and staying in bed pretty much all the time. I was home that night, but didn’t figure out until about 11 am the next day that she was actually dead, not just sleeping. I felt rotten about that for a long time. Especially considering that I had gotten home that night around 11:30 pm and gone in to check on her. She was shaky and trying to get a pain pill, which I of course handed to her. I gave her some water, a hug and said goodnight. I wish I had stayed with her longer.

Instantly.
If they got past my P97DC, Browning HP and Mossberg Maverick 88 w/ Pistol Grip.

Seeing as how I’m a real anti-social bastard and don’t have a SINGLE friend in the whole world my carcass would probably just lie here rotting until next Christmas or until my g/f turned up in about 20 minutes

probably about 10 minutes unless DH is already asleep. Then it would be 3 in the morning 5 hours tops (unless he forgot to set the alarm…)

My aunt died of natural causes last year on a sunday afternoonShe was in the bathroom of her home and it wasn’t till Monday when I called the police to do a Well Person check on her that she was found. The scary part… she had watched my then 2.5 year old for a week earlier in the month. I shudder to think of what could have happened if she had died while caring for him…:frowning:

About an hour, just as soon as my roommate finishes watching “The Hot Chick.”

Hmm, I’d lie around here until the stench got unbearable for the people in the hall, which I’ll estimate at a few days at least.

There’s also a 50/50 chance that the custodian who cleans the bathroom shared between my neighbor’s room and mine would use my door to enter, and find me then.

All told, probably within the week.

6 hours until Charlene comes in to help me take these help desk calls. Or, if the stupid nurses try paging me, realize that no one is working then page the operator to page the on-call support and then who ever is on-call comes into the office to find me crucified to the drop ceiling.

Gee. If Hamish murdered me, I doubt anyone would notice for some time. (Tommy-kun would freak out when I didn’t come on line for several days, but he wouldn’t know what had happened.)

And if the cats killed me, they’d probably get Hamish too. So I guess it would be quite some time.

It looks like if you’re planning on killing a doper tonight and want to get a good headstart after the murder, I’m your man. I live alone. I just got home from work a few hours ago and I have the next two days off. So nobody would even look for me until Thursday afternoon. And that’s questionable. Someone did in fact die at home two weeks ago while getting ready for work and everybody assumed on the first day that she had just decided to stay home and take a sick day.

'Bout an hour, when parents return.

Here, a couple of hours. While I’m alone, someone would call and wonder why the phone wasn’t being answered.

I live alone, and tomorrow is my day off. If I dropped dead inside my front door, it would be Thursday morning before anyone would know at the earliest.

for the record I’m a guy. As far as the raising my count goes…Who? Me!!!

 Thread confusion?

I think I might know where this post belongs.

Carry on.

At work it would probably take an hour or two.

At home it would take a while for people at work to realize I hadn’t come in, and it would probably take several days before anyone was sent to my house in investigate. My dogs would have already chowed down on my corpse at that point.

Nope, I’m responding to him from the first page.

But I’m wondering what will happen to the poster that kills this thread. Should we expect the worssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

If one of the servers goes down, only a few seconds

Not instant. My assistant would probably just think I fell asleep at my desk or something. Yeah, even if I had a giant knife sticking out of my back.

So, who else is morbid enough to have made plans for who online should be notified of your death?

Er, or am I the only one?

Julie

I’d like to think it’d take only a couple of minutes seeing as how I’m in a big lab with three other people.

However, I often disappear in plain sight (just not lovable I guess) so it might take until one of them gets pissed at having to do my work.
