Surprise nude/sex scenes in the movies

Yes, I could have gone to my grave without seeing a nude Ken Davitian in BORAT, but I think the main reason they black-barred Sasha’s naughty bits was that he’s Jewish and it would have been odd for Borat himself to have been…altered like that.

A shame, looks like it would have been a nice sight.

My husband and I both thought Sasha’s schlong was blacked out so they could make it a super-long black bar. As if “Borat” had this immense unit.

You’re right. I’m against movie censorship in principle, but I know a lot of people who would really enjoy Amelie were it not for that very brief scene. Seems gratuitous, given the tone and content of the rest of the movie. So I don’t recommend it to some (older, conservative folks and younger teens).

While parts of the movie are whimsical, much of it is more adult in tone. The scenes involving the sex shop, for example. I don’t think that one sequence was gratuitous at all. The sex sequence in Delicatessen might be a better example.

I guess the inserted images in “Fight Club” don’t really count as scenes, but I’ve always wondered what they were meant to accomplish.

Earlier in the movie, Tyler Durden (I think) had taken a job as a projectionist, purely to insert such images into kids movies. It’s a meta joke that they do the same thing later on in Fight Club itself.
