And your credentials for diagnosing psychiatric conditions over the internet are… what, exactly?
Or is this like Trump putting a person with exactly zero medical credentials or experience who is a fountain of conspiracy theories in charge of Health and Human Services? Which he is very much attempting to do.
You’re skirting the edge of gaslighting, if not actually into it.
I hope that while they’re being deported by Trump’s ICE goons, they are comforted by the fact that they really stuck it to “Genocide Joe and Kamala”. Great job team, you really showed them the true power of the electorate (as dumb tools of fascists).
Your desperate hyperbole aside, it still remains within the realm of genuine possibility that Trump and the GOP could continue to blow through every norm and ignore every check and balance in the system. Der_Trihs is focusing on a worst case scenario that is extreme but not impossible.
That’s the fucking problem. The right have already removed the bolts from so many guardrails and plan to remove so many more that we cannot assume they will hold. We can only hope.
And then California or whatever says OK we’re not recognizing Washington’s authority, and then Sec of Defense Hulk Hogan invades California and kills everyone that disagrees with the idea that votes count and then soon we have the country divided up into different zones that all are forced to send representatives to Washington to take part in winner take all gladiatorial games for the favor of King trump III (Baron).
Don’t be absurd. Using military force to force compliance is a standard dictatorial practice. Pretending it’s some impossibility is just denying reality and history.
Lots of people are hoping that the new Senate leader will limit Trump, but when he was elected, this is what he had to say:
Thune quickly responded in a statement that the Senate must “quickly and decisively” act to get nominees in place and that “all options are on the table to make that happen, including recess appointments.”
Speaking to reporters after he was elected, Thune noted that “the Senate has an advise and consent rule in the Constitution” but that they will do everything they can to get his nominees in place.
“How that happens remains to be seen,” Thune said.
Now, maybe he’s re-thinking this in light of the actual nominations we’ve seen this week, but I wouldn’t go placing all my hopes of salvation on this guy.
No, it be like back in the old days when you were expected to keep your “special needs” at home in the basement/ attic. Or if you could afford to in institutions. Just like Boo Radley or Charlie Gordon…
I had to look that up, and having never read or watched the work it’s from the main recollection I have from discussions about it is that it’s bad sci-fi and physically impossible.
Nazi America like Nazi Germany however is perfectly possible.
