Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

I was speaking of the state of Kansas, of which Marshall is a Senator.

I counted Washington once, because of…formatting of my source.

He got 100% of the vote anyway…

Trump voter’s wife gets detained by ICE.

I’m not sure who is dumber, him or her.

I mean, you can either walk out the door and let them drag you away, or at least make them go to the trouble of illegally entering and dragging you away. It gives you more time to call for help, and they might decide you’re not worth the trouble.

Don’t comply with the ruse of “it’s only going to be harder if you assert your rights”. That’s not an enforceable deal, you have no recourse if they decide to fuck you up anyway. You can’t say “whoa, you’re being too hard, what happened to going easier if I complied”.

Or maybe they don’t drag you out at all. There are all sorts of things that law enforcement and other government agents can’t do against your will but are just fine if you consent. And sometimes ( maybe most times) they will just go away if there is no warrant. Maybe they will get one or maybe they won’t. I was a CPS investigator in NYC for eight years. In all that time, only two families wouldn’t allow me into their home. As it happened, there wasn’t evidence in either case for me to get a warrant - so basically, I went away. And so might ICE, but they definitely won’t go away if people “comply in advance”.

There are going to be a LOT more of these stories in the coming days. To the point they news will stop reporting on them because they will no longer be so unusual anymore. But they’ll continue, on and on, because the people running this country now are evil.

I saw this elsewhere on the internet. A MAGA was trying to enter a bar that was LGBTQ+ friendly while filming and trying to cause trouble. She got Bounced (and rightly so). People are fighting back.

Trump has lost the majority more than any other president. And yes, plenty of others have won a majority. BTW, this makes Trump the biggest loser in presidential elections. Cue sad trombone.

Thank you for educating me. I always thought it was a majority in the electoral college not the popular vote that mattered.

The Electoral College is a mechanism conceived by a cabal of elitist, diseased, slave-raping, white supremacists hell-bent on keeping the ‘correct’ people in power and actual democracy a fairy tale. One we’ve been telling ourselves as a nation for centuries.

Consider your education on this matter complete.

Oh, it is, as far as who becomes president. Winning the popular vote is meaningless, other than being able to brag about popularity, and you know that being able to do that is yooogely important to Trump.

You SPECIFICALLY called out the popular vote. If you were talking about the electoral vote, well, that makes no sense. In the popular vote category that you asked about, Trump is the biggest loser losing three times. Can you dispute that?

Ah well, of course he won Kansas by a mile. No surprise there.

What the actual fuck? Yeah, no shit you have to win the majority in the EC.

I think I mentioned this once on another thread:

The Electoral College is the one affirmative action program that the MAGAs really love.

Um, here’s what you asked:

In addition to that, it’s such a tired chestnut to observe “hurr durr there’s no popular vote, only the electoral college matters”. Because (a) the popular vote count exists, and (b) everyone on this board fucking knows it doesn’t determine elections.

The reason we talk about the popular vote is that POTUS is President of the whole country, and at every opportunity we need to ram home the point that we have a system that the majority of the whole country’s will can be subverted by an antiquated system that decided voters were too stupid to be trusted with the franchise, and that Republicans are usually the beneficiary of this rigged arrangement.

It’s a point that matters, which is why you asked it. Unclear why you forgot you asked it.

[too easy a setup]
I dunno… have you seen .what/who they’ve been voting for?

To the Point of No Return? /s

I did. My comment was as a reply to the implication that the loser of the popular vote was the loser of the election
