Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

There are things that Biden could have done, rhetorically to start with, then stopping the flow of weapons and aid, and even abstaining a UN resolution.
Of course there’s what was within biden’s power to do, and what would be politically feasible. Any attempt at the slightest pushback to Bibi would be seen by much of the American public as if Biden was planning 9/11 part 2.

But yes I’m shocked that a prominent Muslim activist could be that naive to think Mr Muslim ban, sitting atop a party that repeats IDF talking points verbatim, which basically depict Palestinians as sub humans, is about to bring salvation.

I have no fear that after seeing Smapti’s sternly worded YouTube video about that mass murder the Hulkster will see the error of his ways and don an Antifa mask since that’s all that’s really needed to stop fascism.

“This wouldn’t have happened if Biden had ended the war when he had a chance!”

Come on now, you know it doesn’t have to make sense. They don’t even need a whole fig leaf now. Just the bare stem will do.

Making a face turn?

I can buy that!

Not even that. “The Emperor’s New Leaf.”

That or, “We’ve always been at war with Eastasia.” No wonder they like fracking so much – it’s needed for the lighting.

Exactly. We’ve already seen a lot of “the Biden Admin failed to save us from the return of Trump” attitude (see threads about Garland, about court expansion, etc.) and we’ll see more.

TBH, the dark humor of seeing what a shitshow is coming for us all, but not least of all LEFP voters, is the only thing keeping me going some nights. On the one hand, I am dreading thanksgiving with my family of Trump voters. On the other, if they start talking about how much better things are about to get, rather than challenge them, I’ll just politely ask “Oh, really? What do you think is about to happen?” and then make some mental notes which I might jot down later for comparison in a year or two.

This is going to be terrible, but it can also be fun. Like playing chicken with history. Just never take your foot off the gas, and never play defense (with a hat-tip to Innuendo Studios and its Alt-Right Playbook)

You are? These are the same people who think that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide, so no amount of bad judgement from them would surprise me. They’re displaying the exact same level of critical thinking skills in both situations.

This is the Trump administration we’re talking about.

He’ll just say he brought peace to the Middle East and any claims that there’s still a war going on are lies by the liberal media to make him look bad.

We should expect no less from the winner of five Nobel peace prizes.

I would amend this to say “I’d love to, but I’m not going to jail to save you from your own choices.”

I really would help them. Helping people is always right. But my level of care will not exceed the level of care that they show for themselves.

I was giving Elon Musk some thought this morning and his upcoming appointment to the “Department of Government Efficiency”. How long will it be, do you think, until the world’s richest man becomes bored with sitting in his shabby government office with tacky metal furniture and a computer that is five years out of date, while his empire starts to show its cracks in his absence and he starts losing money? Maybe six months before he decides to bolt for the door?

And this whole notion of saving two trillion dollars by firing people is utter nonsense. The entire government workforce comprises 15% of the total budget of nearly $7 trillion, or about $1 trillion. And that’s if they fired all of them. So say they fire 20% of them, or 60,000 people. That’s only about $200B. Then what? All numbers approximate of course.

So fire them again. There’s another $200B right there!

Or, take a page from the Office Space Playbook: Just stop paying them. No need to fire anybody! They either stop showing up eventually or they work for free! The problem resolves itself!

Yes, all that is likely Trump conduct. He does love to lie.
And he’ll be doing that about ALL the face-eating, not just about the variety coming to his Muslim-American voters, and many of the newly-faceless will swallow it without protest. (No easy task!)

But I still say that the lies about what’s going to happen in the Middle East will be less likely to fool the pro-Palestinian Trump voters. They may, as suggested, try telling themselves that none of it would have happened if Biden had…done “something.” But even for a species that specializes in self-deception, that’s going to be a tall order.

After all, “none of this would have happened if _______” is an infinite void. There’s no end to it. “None of this would have happened if” Britain had made different decisions about the partition of the Ottoman Empire following WWI, “none of this would have happened” if Napoleon had won at Waterloo and thus France had owned the Middle East, etc. etc. etc.

Yeah nothing troll-y about that response.

You might disagree about whether it’s a genocide but the facts are that tens of thousands of civilians are dead, and individual governments, the UN, numerous (Western) news agencies etc have all suggested that the IDF’s actions meet some of the definition of genocide.

Again, you might disagree but this is not some wacky suggestion that has come from nowhere. It’s not Bigfoot Elvis.

You’re joking, right? Elon Musk isn’t going to spend six months “sitting in his shabby government office with tacky metal furniture and a computer that is five years out of date”, any more than he actually lived out of a $50k shack in rural Texas; he’ll be working out of “friends’” estates (presumably Trump isn’t going to let him back into Mar-A-Lago after he convinces him to leave but he has plenty of other associations who would be happy to let him ‘couch surf’ in 12 bedroom mansions), nor will he deign to show up at Cabinet meetings or to brief Congress except as it pleases him to do so. Indeed, Musk doesn’t really have any interest in any formal government post unless it is labeled “Techno-Wizard” or “Cyberpunk Czar”, and will basically use it as a way to attack whatever remains of the FCC for denying SpaceX almost $1B in rural subsidies because petty vindictiveness is his métier.

Musk’s companies—all of them including, yes, SpaceX—are already losing money, and the best thing he could do for them is to get distracted enough to leave them alone and allow the people who are desperately trying to make them viable to get to that work instead of trying to justify the existence of the Cybertruck or ‘Starship’, a vehicle purpose-designed to fill Low Earth Orbit with a thousand tons of trash waiting to precipitate a Kessler cascade and rain toxic debris back down to Earth.

FYI, apparently he no longer lives that shack in Texas but instead in a compound of multi-million-dollar mansions in Austin he bought for his use and that of some of the women with whom he’s had eleven (or more) children.

I suspect the idea is that the Mars colony will be entirely populated by those with whom he shares DNA.

No shit? Elon lied? “Surprise, surprise, surprise!”

Elon (maybe) lived in that prefab for a maximum of three days to establish some bona fides before moving somewhere that he can play first person shooters on a 120 inch OLED screen. Elon is so full of shit even his robots walk around like they’ve pooped their pants.

So, yet another bankrupt in Trump’s solar system is going to be in charge of the government not going broke?

This reminds me of an old Science Fiction story with a mission to Mars crewed by a number of women but with just one man. All the women got pregnant. I can’t recall the name of the story, though.

I wonder if Musk read the same story?
