Thoughts and prayers arriving in two weeks.
I’m lost. What happens in two weeks?
You get an excuse and a suggestion to wait two more weeks.
Red staters are still fucked, but blame Biden.
ETA: I heard one of them blame Obama the other day for the quality of the local school’s lunches. The dude has been out of office for almost a decade.
Remember when Michelle Obama tried to improve school lunches and the conservatives went bat shit?
Neither do they…
Well, that’s just it! Obama should have suspended Haveus Lunchus, and forced them to develop better school lunches!
I picture some little kid who watches too much HeMan holding a sandwich and a juice pack over his head, proclaiming, “I HAVE THE LUNCH!”
Well, they sorta remember “Obama … something … something … school lunch”. And since it involves the Dems, it had to have been eeeevil. The rest is just irrelevant details in their minds. And I use the term “minds” loosely.
They may not have been born mindless, but 30 years exposure to relentless RW propaganda has pretty well deprived them of the ability to think rather than just parrot.
This appears to be the correct thread for this:
Is The Sarkari Form a fact-based news source? It might be, but I’ve never heard of it and so I’m skeptical.
MSN has the same story about his earnings decrease. Technically his wages aren’t changes, it’s incentives that dropped.
Not quite: they remember “Obama…something…school lunch…NWORD.”
Sorry, I meant to say: “they voted for Trump because of inflation.”
Can you keep him please? We don’t need more of that kind of idiot down here.
Eh bueh I suppose we’ll have to take him, one idiot more or less won’t make a difference.
Well, TBF if it’s a multi-year year downward trend the current administration isn’t solely to blame, unless maybe it started with Trump 1.0 and Biden “only” slowed the trend.
Perhaps more schadenfreude then. So not the right thread after all.
How many MAGA voters and MAGA-adjacent (i.e.: relatives) are going to lose their health care?
GOP bill raises fears of major reduction in home care for seniors, disabled
Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” proposes cutting billions from social benefit programs, including $800 billion from Medicaid and $300 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Medicaid also provides health insurance coverage to about 5 million disabled Americans.
Medicaid is also a major funder of nursing home care. Medicare, the federal health insurance program for Americans 65 and older, only covers short nursing home stays. Medicaid will often pay for Longer-term nursing home stays and at-home care for low-income Americans who qualify.
The program pays more than 60 percent of long-term care residents in nursing homes, according to reporting from KFF Health News.
As a disabled person, this scares the shit out of me. I’m also trying to get disability from Social Security. I don’t know if the current regime is going to make that harder.
At a minimum, the staffing cuts at SSA will make the process slower, even it it’s no more difficult in terms of meeting the rules & policies.
MAGA’s goal has always been to disassemble anything but the “survival of the fittest”. Where for “fittest” you can substitute “most wealthy”.
And when the vast majority of MAGA is light years away from “most wealthy” you’d think that they’d…aaa, forget it.
There’s a political corollary to the old saw about “You can’t cheat an honest man.”
I can’t formulate it tightly but it’s something like “You can’t bamboozle a [something] person.” Which [something] is really missing from the generic MAGA psyche.
I just don’t know what word or two fits to succinctly complete the saying.
Any ideas?
