I remember seeing a few Attila the Hun and Gone with the Wind spoof shirts from back in the day with Thatcher and Reagans faces on the classic movie posters.
I would think that Trump has had access to all the Epstein evidence for a while, if he wanted it. Trump famously doesn’t read or, at least, read well, but I think he would have had someone he trusted to tell him what is in there that relates to him. Probably the reason he’s so triggered by it is that he knows he’s in there and not in a good way.
In your scenario, though, I can see Trump responding to a reporter’s question about his name being on the Epstein List by saying: “No, it isn’t. It’s been redacted, so it can’t be! Fake News!”

The Epstein story mattered so much in MAGA circles because it was a key element in their indictment of America’s so-called ruling class. Trump’s appeal to the Republican base isn’t just rooted in his supporters’ extraordinary affection for the man; it’s also rooted in their almost indescribably dark view of the American government.
Why are they so keen to burn it all down? Well, if you believe your government is populated by people so depraved that they’d participate in and cover up the systematic sexual abuse of children, then you wouldn’t just want them out of office; you’d want them prosecuted, imprisoned and maybe even executed. And you’d want all the power you’d need to make that happen.
And if you believe that the ruling elites would abuse children, then they’d certainly be the kind of people who’d gin up a Russia hoax or try to steal an election in 2020. People who are that terrible are capable of anything. And if you wonder why MAGA turned on the F.B.I. and the Department of Justice, well, it’s not just about the Russia investigation or the F.B.I. search of Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago. MAGA America also believed the F.B.I. was protecting pedophiles to preserve the status quo.

The Epstein list was the smoking gun, the proof that Democrats are EVIL and in league with Satan and that they are capable of every kind of depraved, illegal, criminal behavior in service to the Dark Side. The list’s existence validated every tenet of the MAGA Creed and justified belief in nutso stories like Hillary’s child sex pizza parlor.
Now trumpie is saying, “Move along, there’s nothing to see here”?? WHAT? HE LIED TO US? Impossible! Brain cells detonating. Heads exploding. 
The rest of us already knew trump and all his flying monkeys were liars so the Epstein lie was just one more that fizzled with a whimper not a bang.
It must really hurt a barely functioning brain to learn in July of 2025 that Donald Trump ia a liar.

And that fact that his own base is pushing him to release it, even when he’s been dropping hints left and right to let it go, show how deeply they believe the garbage he spews. If they knew it was BS, they’d stop talking about it, but they really seem to think there’s something exculpatory in these files and don’t seem to understand why he’s not showing it to them.

…prayer…It’s probably a good thing, but I’m not sure what it’s for. At least, I’m not sure what intercessory prayer is for.
I’ve known–and currently know–people who have suffered and are suffering with chronic illnesses, have had life-threatening accidents and surgeries, and have made all manner of trips to the brink of death and not crossed over. And when they’ve survived and gotten better, they or their families have said, “Well, we had a lot of people praying!” And I’ve thought, and sometimes been bold enough to say out loud, “The people who died had a lot of people praying, too.”
Which is the basis of one of my personal sayings, “Sometimes you do everything right, and they still die.” Including praying.
I know, this is a topic for another thread. Since it’s the Pit, I permitted myself a little sidebar. Carry on.
We’ve heard their leaders say about various different issues e.g. election denialism, “I know this is so, but I just can’t prove it.” So as I said it in another thread: what if what they are saying is, “we know they’re up to no good – if you got nothin’ MAKE SOMETHING UP if that’s what it takes to take them down!” Because I can see their minds working that way.
It depends on who you’re praying to.

Very difficult to break through this kind of mindset. (Jesus could return and disavow trump and magas would toss him out)
I don’t know if the anti trump memes will help, but they certainly are more gut level than policy papers. Cheer me up for the day at least.

Interestingly, that was the topic of today’s sermon. John 11:1-6, the illness of Lazarus, and why people still die even when they are pious. I’d link to the video, but it’s not up yet.
Lazarus just caught Jesus on a good day. 
I liked the part where the messenger informed Jesus that Lazarus was ill. Therefore, Jesus waited an additional two days before leaving (on the two-day trip) to see him.
