Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

The Shizzler.

There’s got to be a Yiddish word that can be adapted.

“Tap, tap, tap… Is this thing on??”

Not referring to Skywatcher.

He is, for all his countless flaws, a very good showman, albeit contemptuous of his crowd, very much in a P.T. Barnum way. It’s about the show, and letting the crowds involve themselves. But there doesn’t have to be any Substance to the show itself.

Or, from a slightly darker, yet also totally appropriate POV. He’s like the popular Hellfire and Damnation Preacher that swings through town periodically. I mean, if you think about what he says it isn’t going to be good for you, because you’re always overlooking your own many sins, but damn, you enjoy the show and the vicarious vicious pleasure in imagining all those who have done you wrong suffering and that, That is what moves you.

Again, all about the show and selling that sizzle. Who cares if the Trump steak is tough and gristly, and the trim is gold-ish, not gold.

BTW - does anyone have any stories of two-time winners for the LEFP? I mean, they got their faces lovingly gnawed on for Trump 1.0, and are once again seeing said Leopards coming back for a second course in 2.0? Of course, triple word score if they confirmed they voted for him in 2020!

But can the government prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Trump didn’t declassify the documents with his mind?

Not a two time winner, but a 2018 Newsweek article covered one, “Maria Guadalupe “Lupita” Rios, 60, [who] said she voted for Trump in 2016 in order to keep illegal immigrants out, but now she is worried her land will simply be seized to make way for the [border wall].” I guess she liked the idea of a wall, but not the idea of losing her property via eminent domain.

Jewish space lasers!

What about Charlatanry?

I think it’ll be a hell of a lot more than not quick, easy or cheap. Hoping I’m dead wrong on this, but I’ll speculate that there’ll still be a sufficient amount of MAGA support to primary any semi-sane consevatives to the dustbin, well after the Orange Bastard’s exit.

Thus:

With all the administration’s (and others’) backlash against Ukraine, I find it very satisfying to see a national leader step up and show what is basically unconditional support for the wrongly-besiged country. Hoping this gets a sharting Trump angrily tweeting from his golden toliet at 3 am.

odd - no preview

Turns out this Trump Burger story is a double-decker:

Apparently this other co-owner has an extensive criminal record going back decades and has been in ICE custody since June!

ETA:

His lawyers later told the paper that he is in such poor health, he fears he will die in ICE custody.

Fuck 'um.

Why should Canadians buy American? They’re right to not choose our booze. Especially Kentucky-the GOP chose tariffs, so….

I’m reminded of the notice prominently posted in my local (Canadian) liquor store:

“AMERICAN LIQUOR AND WINE IS NOW MORE EXPENSIVE! THANKS TO TRUMP AND HIS TARIFFS!”

Then,

“But you can save by trying Canadian wines, spirits, and beers.”

I agree. Canadian wines, spirits and beers are worth trying.

Will Trump and the GOP in general EVER get tired of shooting themselves in the foot?

“Wow, that hurt, let me try my other foot”.

Reality has a way of winning over fantasy. The problem is stubborn people who lurve their fantasies can keep their eyes scrunched shut for decades while reality beats them silly.

The fact somebody is telling them convenient “facts” that are false through and through makes them noticing that reality much harder than it was 20 or 50 years ago.

The social situation in this country is truly in uncharted territory when ~half the country lives in a truly alternate reality largely disconnected from real reality. Bizarro World has arrived.

Canadian….wine?

Ice wines, donchya know?

Canadian Niagara is my favorite variety of fox wine. Obviously to some people that would seem like the best reality TV show, but I sort of like them.

I’ve also had a good Canadian Gamay. This time, not as good as French Beaujolais, but still way above average for wine since I am a fan of Gamay.

Since those are the only two types of Canadian wines I’ve had, I guess I can say I really like Canadian wine thus far in my life.

But are they as trying as our president?

I’ve heard of snake wine, but fox? that sounds a bit hairy.

It’s… an acquired taste.
