Nah, she’s on good old fashioned Xitter(*). But really… what did she expect.
(* Took a look. She and a bunch of people she re-Xits seem to be pivoting back to old-school America-First-ism and the the old reliable “everyone’s in the pocket of the Israel Lobby” angle.)
Yeah, long-time leopard supporter finally wises up after there’s nothing left of her face but gleaming, licked-clean skull. Better late than never, I guess?
The long term ramification is that the Republican party is now openly the US Fascist party. And they’ll remain exactly that unless and until something truly huge happens that consigns that entire organization to the ash heap of history. That “something” almost assuredly includes a new government and new constitution over (most of) the land area currently called the USA.
If the history of all the other totalitarian takeovers of recent centuries is any guide, that change away from fascist totalitarianism is also at least 40, and more probably 100, years in the future. Meanwhile it’s game, set, match for the Forces of Evil.
I had to think about it for a second. But you would not last long on a message board that values facts, if that was their real opinion about the thing in the Offal office.
How about we meet here in 11 years or so when, despite the utter disgrace of this administration, Republicans regain control of the presidency or Congress. Because disinformation will continue, white people will continue to believe they’re victims, and more diversity will scare voters into voting against their own interests.
Well it proves meeting him, or anyone, in 40 years would be a big ask for me. It’s certainly possible, and maybe given modern medicine, maybe a 10% chance. But not really in the realm of possibility.
More relevant, if course, is the likelihood of a modern political party winning in 11 years and then, and only then, becoming irrelevant in elections. Unless, of course, we’re planning on the current Republican Party starting a World War that they lose.
I don’t disagree with you. Because I have no idea what you were trying to say in either of your last two posts. There seems to be a lot of context in your head that’s not making it onto the page. Care to try again?
What do you predict will happen? On what timescale?
Under the, not guaranteed, assumption that there will be actual elections in 2028, the usual scenario will be the that Dems take back the government in 2028, and start trying to sift through the wreckage that Trump left in his wake and put together something resembling a functional civil service, but won’t be able to fix everything that Trump broke in A timely fashion, so the Dems will get the blame, the Republicans will win congress in 2030 preventing any further remediation, and the presidency in 2032, to break it all over again.
I have to admit to a certain rather tiny amount of dismay that after we have both been posting here for about 25 years, @dtilque would actually think I might seriously think that “Trump was known for his honesty pre-election”. The number of long term posters who might say such a thing and believe it is rather small and extremely notorious.
Just playing devil’s advocate here… but is this because it’s a Republican, or simply because it’s a politician and the masses are pissed off about the shutdown etc and taking it out on anyone in the firing line?
