Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

As a member of a non white-anglophone-evangelical demographic, a vibe I got for a long while is that many who supported Trumpism were buying into the notion that there ARE tens of millions of narcogang-criminal or system-cheating “illegals” who were just not being dealt with because the US legal Establishment was too namby pamby about “rights” to just do what needs doing. Because those cases when detected were what media amplified. So yeah, a lot of this crowd sincerely convinced themselves “oh, he doesn’t mean the good ones.”

…and yes a lot of people convinced themselves that a series of temporary or conditional or special-consideration measures created some sort of entitled right, when they were really subject to the policy of whoever was in office.

Well, thanks for the clarification. That makes more sense in context.

But a blanket “don’t mean shit” doesn’t help because we’re clearly not all knowledgeable about immigration law. I get that it was an off the cuff Pit response late at night but not helping the cause with your initial response, ya know?

I know… I know… I’m just tired.

Anyway, the above discussion, while informative, is moot because any ICE thug officer is empowered to declare any documentation “fake” and spirit the holder away to Og knows where.

The important thing is that, this time, they got the right man. Our nation really is better with some people gone. Take his wife. Please, take her!

For some, the light is breaking through…

When millions of Americans voted Trump into office in 2024, they believed one thing above everything else: he would not drag the United States into another foreign war. That promise is now broken. Supporters who once cheered Donald Trump are now saying they voted Trump and now regret it — because the man they trusted with their votes has betrayed every promise he made.

The moment Trump announced airstrikes on Iran alongside Israel, something cracked open inside his own movement. This was not a small policy adjustment. This was a full-scale war, complete with bombs falling on a girls’ elementary school in southern Iran that killed at least 148 people — most of them children, according to The New York Times. The Iranian Red Crescent reported more than 200 deaths overall, a number still rising. Three American service members were killed. Five more were badly wounded.

And where was Donald Trump when the bombs dropped? He was on the dance floor at his Mar-a-Lago resort, dancing to “God Bless the USA” at a private gala.

Um, yeah. Welcome to the Real World. Stay awhile, why don’t you?

I keep reminding myself we need to maintain a friendly space for ex-Trumpers. It’s hard though.

I want them to suffer first, though. A lot of suffering.

Or at least the same space anybody else is provided who follows community guidelines.

The LEFP types also tend to be the type to be snowflakes, simultaneously demand special treatment while complaining the least criticism is tantamount to accusations of baby seal clubbing.

If you’re a baby seal who foolishly voted for trump, you deserve all the clubbing you’ll get.

Baby seals voting? I don’t think they’re old enough.

Then again, remember kids: it’s not voter fraud if it’s a vote for Dear Leader

They’re a bit too young for clubbing also except on all ages night.

And just so we’re clear, voting for Trump is far worse than clubbing baby seals (which is more on the order of “a lesser included offense” by comparison).

You’re not wrong. I just think those people need a relatively safe place to go. If they have no alternatives they might just stick with MAGA.

Sure, but as long as there’s a recognition of the difference between a safe place and coddling.

If they are need special treatment to stay away from MAGA, there’s no point - they were always going to run back at the first setback. Any accusations of mistreatment (or taking such accusations more seriously than merited) are usually rationalizations.

Such people are looking for any excuse to go back to their abusive ex. They have to come to this realization about themselves that they’re better off without. Otherwise, it’s just “now look what you made me do to myself” when they do run back.

Let’s rent some of those abandoned warehouses that were going to be ICE prisons. We can turn them into cozy, comfortable reeducation camps. Follow the same techniques used to de-program anybody who has been in a cult.

This is what you get when you don’t require ID at the polls.

I think it’s worthwhile to observe a truce with ex-Trumpers as long as they are not currently engaging in Trumpy behavior. Especially currently justifying their former position. Like saying “I still believe in what he said, I just didn’t think he’d go to war/raise my expenses so much” etc. If they also observe this truce by not bringing it up, we can wait until later for mutual recriminations.

On the other side, we shouldn’t pro actively bring it up. Like:
xMaga: “I used to be Maga but now I’m a never trumper”
rando: “Why”
xMaga: “Because I supported him on immigration and women in sports”
rando: “A PERSON ISNT ILLEGAL! TERF! TERF!”

It’s one thing if they mention it on purpose instead of giving reasons for their former political position.

Now on the other hand if they do justify their former positions without prompting, I’m not so sure. Maybe we could inquire as to whether they still believe them or not.

This is my problem with MAGAs who are leaving Trump. They are leaving Trump because they feel he didn’t deliver what he promised. My problem with them is what they thought Trump was going to deliver was horrible to begin with. They want immigrants thrown out of the country. They want poor people thrown off food stamps and other types of assistance. They want abortion outlawed and religion shoved down our throats.

They haven’t suddenly “seen the light” and are now wonderful people. They still suck and I still hate them.

Very rarely you’ll hear from a MAGA who has sincerely rethought things and changed their position on some issues. But that’s not the case with most of them.

IOW, he hasn’t been mean enough. Especially to Those People.
