Anyone who is not voting for Republicans (or other fascists) is an ally. It is the only thing we need to agree on. That is how winning politically coalitions are built. We can argue about what’s next after the Republicans are out of power.
The ones I am least likely to tolerate or forgive (and I have bias as a secular Jew) are the ones falling out with Trump over being involved in the war over his support of Israel (read “teh jews!”). They’re totally onboard with shooting drug boats, kidnapping national leaders, annexing other nations, but helping Israel (even if they support widescale killing of Muslims in general) is too much!
Sure, I’ll take the win if they don’t vote MAGA or Trump, but bet they still will because, as always, any Democrat will be worse. But I’ll still hate them and never trust them.
“The enemy of my enemy is my enemy’s enemy. No more. No less.”
Jut because a segment of the fascists out of momentary frustration turns on their own, don’t think that they won’t turn right back and kill us all if given the chance.
Not entirely. We need to be mindful of the fact that for some things, there is no agreement or compromise possible.
We can’t say "Well OK, you can be a little bit Nazi, or just support a small amount of genocide, or only hate certain sexual orientations… as long as you don’t vote for MAGA candidates.
I just won’t accept those people into my political tent. At all.
You mean you don’t feel sympathy for Nick Fuentes? From his posts tonight on Twitter:
Oooh, a leading spokesman for white/Christian nationalists and incels is big mad.
By betraying Fuentes and the groypers, Trump’s facing the voice of rage and ruin.
Yup, a very good candidate for “still hate them and never trust them” right there. And again, I’d give 90/10 odds that once the voting comes around, at best they’ll say Trump’s wrong, but that any Democrat is going to be too pro-Je…Israel so that they reluctantly will vote for Trump.
Fuckers.
I would - for the next couple of elections.
Hell, I’d vote for Joe Biden’s rotting corpse if the alternative was MAGA.
I would - for the next couple of elections.
That’s what the Republicans did, and it got them taken over.
The man’s name is "Abdellatif Hafraoui.” And he’s brown. Therefore it is technically impossible for him to be “American.” /MAGAthink
Barely beats Melanija Knav
… And she is mostly Brown too… And but yeah..
The ones I am least likely to tolerate or forgive (and I have bias as a secular Jew) are the ones falling out with Trump over being involved in the war over his support of Israel (read “teh jews!”).
Is this common? From what I’ve heard, MAGAs problem (understandably) seems to be with Trump getting the US involved in another war and in particular another Middle East quagmire. I haven’t seen anything to suggest they would be any less concerned if Trump had got the US into an actual or potential long term war that had nothing to do with Israel.
I think MAGA have been OK with other examples you mention because they weren’t “wars” but more just quick illegal extra-judicial violence that weren’t as likely to become quagmires.
Yeah, MAGA seems just fine with what happened in Venezuela.
Is this common?
Antisemitism is pervasive in the American Right. It just gets masked somewhat due to how many of them support Israel in the name of “Biblical prophecy”; but since that prophecy is supposed to conclude with two-thirds of the Israeli population being killed and the remainder converting to Christianity, it’s not actually intended as either pro-Israel or pro-Jewish.
The Israelis know this of course, but don’t care since it’s not their prophecy and they neither believe in it nor worry about it.
I’m not saying its a huge factor of this subgroup (Trump supporters drawing the line at this war), but yes, I have encountered it. Some of it, like Fuentes mentioned above, are bothering to include a tttttiiiiinnnyyyy bit of ambiguity, others have been blunter. Rather than saying “No spending our wealth and blood for Israel”, it’s “No spending our wealth and blood for Jews.”. And even in most of the cases of the first, I think they mean the second.
Melanija Knav
Don’t you draw the Knav(e) of Diamonds, boy, she’ll hurt you if she’s able
I anticipate the leopards having a glut-fest on this one.
For the past 3 years, a sleazy little weasel (I’m talking about you, Kevin Kiley) has been “representing” what used to be the CA 3rd Congressional District when he wasn’t busy kissing DJT’s nether regions.
His ascension was blessed by The Orange One (https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article314638825.html) and he even went so far as to marry into the Destiny Church dynasty – these are not nice people. (https://www.yahoo.com/news/rocklin-congressman-kevin-kiley-marries-140000588.html). Note the bride’s obligatory Mara Lago face.
Then CA successfully gerrymandered his seat, combining portions of his former district with very Blue areas. Oh, what will Kevin do? Inexplicably, he has decided to run as an “independent” and distance himself, in very minor ways, from DJT (https://www.politico.com/news/2026/03/06/gop-rep-kevin-kiley-files-for-reelection-as-independent-in-california-00817972). I LOVE it, but I don’t get it. MAGA is big around here and will cut him off and I can’t imagine any Dems voting for him. What is his strategy? Am I missing something here?
His strategy is probably “Folks not noticing what he did and voting for him this time since they voted for him last time.” Name recognition works wonders in modern politics.
Name recognition works wonders in modern politics.
Normally, I’d agree with you, but many? most? of the Reps who voted for him in the past aren’t in his district any more, and I can pretty much guarantee that his new Dem constituents recognize his name and can’t stand him. Perhaps he is counting on “independent “ voters?
Good thought.
I can imagine a lot of R pols who want to capture the “right leaning but disgusted with trump” voters. Those folks will nevar vote D. So the way for an R pol to demonstrate that “I’m not a trump toady; instead I’m a capital C Conservative” is to declare yourself an independent. Good luck w fundraising, but it might be the least bad play on offer for them.
Liking this.
Joe Rogan Says Trump’s Supporters Feel ‘Betrayed’ by Iran War
The influential podcast host described the conflict as a sharp reversal from the policies the president had campaigned on.
Joe Rogan, the influential podcast host, said on his show Tuesday that the war in Iran was “crazy” and had left Americans feeling “betrayed” by President Trump, describing the conflict as a sharp reversal from the policies that the president had campaigned on.
“It just seems so insane,” said Mr. Rogan, who endorsed Mr. Trump in 2024 and said he still texted with him on occasion. “He ran on no more wars: End these stupid, senseless wars. And then we have one that we can’t even really clearly define why we did it.”
…
In December, Mr. Rogan described a new plaque in the White House criticizing former President Joseph Biden Jr. as “so crazy.” And in January he said the shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis seemed “all kinds of wrong,” comparing the federal immigration crackdown in Minnesota’s largest city to the actions of the Gestapo of Nazi Germany.
…
He seems to be noticing the emperor’s lack of clothing. And sense. This is good.
