I have to admit I’m skeptical of a lot of the LAMF stories…because when someone realizes they’ve made a really big mistake, they typically don’t vocally admit it to their biggest detractors, at least not at first.
But this one made me feel really good.

If you aren’t inclined to click, this guy lied and joined 11 other Trump voters for a focus group session.
They were asked - inside this “safe space” - to give Trump a letter grade.
The final tally was A-0, B-0, C-0, D-6, F-6. One person initially gave him a C but asked to change it.
I don’t think any of their reasoning was surprising, it was what you’d expect normal people to say. But I’m hopeful that it might be evidence that the media efforts to normalize Trump aren’t working.

I keep thinking that it must be related to “Just world theory”.
This kind of people tend to believe in it, namely: that bad things only happen to people that somehow “deserve it”.
So they voted for Trump in order to get even more bad people punished, them? no they are not bad people so no bad things are going to happen to them, why do you ask?.
That’s why they are surprised when the bad things the voted for for other people happen to them.
Same as when these followers lose social benefit payments. They are sure, they just KNOW that THEY deserve them, and should keep getting them from the billions in savings that will happen after they’re taken from the cheats and welfare queens who don’t. They’re not getting that the whole program is being cut for everyone.
Remember how Richard and Elizabeth Uihlein, owners of the massive Uline industrial supply company, were in Trump’s top 5 donors ($59 million to Trump’s campaign) in 2024?
Well, in the latest catalog, in a full-page diatribe, Liz is PLEADING for workers, even via immigration reform, so that they can find enough workers to fill their warehouses. Evidently they’re so short-staffed that they’re begging for new employees. And they’re not so happy about the low birthrate here and lack of immigrants to come work for them, even though they offer air conditioning in their Florida warehouse!
Even though she criticizes Trump’s policies, she manages to get a dig in at Biden just to keep everyone happy.
Canada has a good immigration policy, from this American’s viewpoint. They set annual immigration target - 380,000 for 2026
In recent years, Canada’s population has gone from approximately 33 million to 39 million. While there are issues with their system, in my opinion, it functions 100% better than the U.S. We’ve gone from anything goes with Biden to the shutdown with Trump.

Interesting that she fails to mention how much controversy there is in Canada over our immigration policies of the last decade or so, and that we’re reforming it quite a bit after our last election.
Screw her and her company. They are being investigating for allegedly bringing in workers from their facility in Mexico to staff their Wisconsin location, circumventing immigration law.
Kind of reminds me of a certain someone who employs undocumented workers at his golf courses.

From what I could see from focus group comments (the one above and others) the other thing is that they seem to be astonishingly poor judges of character. They seem to have bought into Trump’s TV image and his claims about his own competence wholesale, and seem genuinely flabbergasted by his now demonstrated incompetence.
