Rawls’ “Veil of Ignorance” strikes again.
I love, “I am not a Christian and I don’t turn the other cheek,” Mind if I use that @Broomstick?
Have at it @rsat3acr.
FYI This is the latest update in the New York Times ongoing series of interviews with trump supporters.
When asked to give the trump administration a letter grade, most of them gave him a D. Read the article for yourselves. That should be a gift link.
It was a gift link, @ThelmaLou . And thank you. It was quite interesting, especially when they asked the panel, “If Democrat leaders were in the room right now, and asked how to get more votes, what would you say?”
Holy crap, what a bunch of total morons. Their stupidity is breathtaking, even at this late date.
I know we’re supposed to welcome them to our club, but I’m sorry, it has to be said…such astounding idiocy! How do they manage to breathe in and out, all day long?
That was depressing. I was surprised at how well-informed they seemed, I thought their bubble would have kept them in the dark on some of the things they pointed out.
But good god, they’re all brainless. “He’s not actually delivering on his ridiculous promises, so we’ll vote for some other guy like JD who’s making the same ridiculous promises.” Like, they still don’t know that the Republican party can’t deliver because they’re promising impossible things?
Thanks for the gift link @ThelmaLou. The article offers a clear insight into the minds of Trump voters without all the accompanying noise. I remember there was a thread recently asking what motivates Trump or Maga voters. It didn’t get much traction, obviously, but this article lays it out clearly – for better or worse.
I agree and was surprised too. Many of them seemed up to date on the news, but then was one guy:
“Marjorie Taylor Greene. I don’t watch the news, but the other day I turned on the news and I saw her, and I was taken back with a statement. I didn’t know that she left the House. So that was shocking to me.”
The entire Times Opinion Focus Groups series looks interesting.
I think you mean “people of the land”.
Every time the NYT run another set of interviews with these people, all I can think of is this:
Condescending AND true!
Hilarious – and new to me! “I don’t even know what I do.”
I always wonder how they figure out which shoe goes on which foot when they get dressed in the morning…and then how do they get their pants on afterwards? ![]()
Wait, wait…slow down…baby steps!
They had me at “I watch one channel…and I get so mad!”
Giving them an awful lot of credit there… you think they know what shoes are for?!
Clearly not - we’ve all seen the photos of their leaders clomping about like children playing pretend with their daddy’s much too big shoes
I knew a stupid guy who had TGIF written inside of his shoes. I thought, ‘He may be stupid, but at least he appreciates the prospect of an upcoming weekend.’ Then I found out he wrote TGIF in his shoes to remind himself that Toes Go In First.
Great news for $Trump memecoin investors, who saw values plunge 97% after the initial buy-in in Jan. 2025.
There’s a new opportunity to blow even more of your dough!
Sounds can’t miss!
Of course, the 97% decline in memecoin price is actually 600%, using Trumpian math.
