Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

Oh, gosh. That’s too bad

When Melanie opened the gift, however, she immediately noticed a glaring defect. The watch face was supposed to display the name “TRUMP,” but the “T” was missing. Instead, the luxury timepiece read “RUMP.”

“We expected that it would have the integrity of the president of the United States,” Tim told NBC 10 News.."

Heh. It does, numbnuts, it does.

Nosing around the site, I see that, for 3K, you can get a watch with a piece of the one true mugshot suit.

When the leopard skips your face and comes for your soul instead:

Ouch, that smarts!

Given that Mormons are strongly Republican, hopefully this might have some kind of impact on the midterms if enough of them are truly* pissed off.

*as in - long term - well, as in not forgetting about it come November.

Republicans of all stripes have a pathetic way of taking whatever indignities Trump hits them with, and asking for another.

Forlorn hope. An LDS former coworker of mine has already posted a half-assed defense of this on, of all places, LinkedIn. My LinkedIn feed is rapidly becoming a cesspool of right wing political nonsense.

They need to look up what happened to the Association of German National Jews.

Kissing the ass of oppressors who hate and revile you in the hope you will be spared doesn’t usually work.

she had never previously had any issues regarding her Christianity in the military.
“We’re all confused about it,” she said.

Well, no, actually, some of us aren’t confused at all.

Did this Association of German National Jews (hard to even type that) ever actually admit that they fucked up? Or did they go to their chambers/exile/work camp still justifying their position. Unfortunately, I can easily imagine them trying to defend their position to other death camp inmates.

As I’ve noted on this Board before, when I was a grad student in Utah I found myself, through a series of bizarre circumstances, appointed co-chai of the Education Committee of the (Catholic) Newman center. I had to find and schedule speakers on religious topics. A plum assignment for an agnostic.

I was astonished to learn that a lot of Christians of various stripes did not consider Mormoms to be classified as Christians", whch sort of blew me away. I’d been studying the LDS Church on my own for years. I even had an LDS roommate, went to LDS dances, and was even Best Man at an LDS wedding (not a Temple Sealing, of course). So this took me by surprise and lead to some interesting conversations.

I point this out because I want to show there’s precedence for this kind of thing (even if I don’t agree with it), and it’s not just something Hegseth came up with on his lonesome.

No, in fact none of these actions are ones he came up with on his own, including his ban on beards in the military. They are all part of an effort to make the military white, Christian and fascist. The movement has been going on for years and now it’s just more out in the open because they perceive that they will not ever have to relinquish power.

But did you know there are also Christians who don’t consider Catholics to be Christian?

Emo Phillips video clip in three…two…one…

American Christians often have very odd ideas about what is or isn’t Christian.

I ran into a Christian two days ago who informed me that “Sikhs are pacifist Christians”. Once my brain stopped running in circles screaming in reaction, I politely explained that they were neither (but still often quite nice people). They seemed to take this on board AFAICT.

It’s only since about Reagan that conservative Catholics and evangelicals found common cause. The anti-choice movement united them, before that they weren’t really cultural/political allies. It’s not just the Americans not seeing Catholics as Christians, there was a whole thing in Europe, some kind of kerfuffle.

More than a few kerfuffles, to be fair. There were a couple of tiffs and at least one spat as well.

According to noted Christian expert Jack Chick, Catholics are actually demon worshipers, or something.
