As if he hadn’t screwed the farmers over multiple times during his first administration, and then again several times already in the current one. The level of denial is hard for me to comprehend here. There are toddlers with better pattern recognition than some of these folks.
It’s a defense mechanism. I’ve found a lot of MAGA disciples simply cannot process evidence that runs contrary to their worldview so they shut down mentally. I’ve found this typically manifests in the following ways.
- Aggression - They become hostile (though not necessarily violent).
- Deflection - “They’re transing our kids!”
- Rationalization - “Both sides are the same!”
- Denial - “Fake news!” (Probably the most popular defense mechanism.)
MAGA aren’t the only people who do this of course, but I’ve never quite seen it on such a mass level. It’s amazing and frightening.

Just keep shouting rage-inducing fake info at them 24/7/365 and after a few years, you own their mind and they will believe whatever you shout at them.
And it will not change their foundational principle that it should happen, just not this way and not to those like us.
Remember their cosmology is based on a (choose: natural/God-given) order in which what’s “right” and “normal” is for them to be ahead and others must Know Their Place.
I see a lot of them on social nets already laying the ground for doubling down, whining and bitching about the injustice of being on the receiving end of “you voted for this” and “we warned you”.
What do you expect – sound reasoning? The ability to learn from one’s mistakes? Admissions of being wrong?!
These people are the main problem with America. Period. We were the country that put men on the moon. Now, on a national average, I doubt this country could point to the moon on a cloudless night.

While I sympathise with your anti-fascist view, when you can have hundreds-of-posts long threads in which there is serious debate about whether a certain person or organisation is or is not fascist, it is not an appropriate subject for blanket criminalisation.
By all means criminalise particular violent or other anti-democratic acts, but outlawing a political movement or idea is not a good idea.
Amongst other things, you need to be careful what you wish for - normalisation of criminalisation of political movements has a strong tendency to end up backfiring when RWA’s make political movements you do favour illegal.
We should definitely walk on eggshells around fascists. If we aren’t kind to them, they might try to violently overthrow democracy by inciting a mob to attack Congress.
