That’s great! Is that him looking at the fucking eclipse?
Previews only work if the target website provides the correct invisible mumbo jumbo. If they don’t, there’s nothing Discourse can do about that.
I guess this fits here.
This truck driver is traumatized after a young Haitian immigrant admitted under temporary protected status—an honor student who just graduated from high school and wanted to study neuroscience—instead stepped in front of his semitrailer truck on the highway to commit suicide after being fitted with an ankle monitor.
Nice job, there, buddy.
“Things aren’t getting better, so I’ll vote for the lying felon.”
He may not realize it yet, but by voting for Trump, he personally contributed to that young man’s death (and not by accidentally running over him).
Not everyone can kill the same person twice. This guy pulled it off.

He was beginning to believe that the Trump administration was “a joke,” and that the Democrats were no better. “Everything is broken,” Jack said.
This self-indulgent fuckwit deserves every bit of trauma he’s experiencing. Who does he think created the protected status that Trump revoked?
I’ve been noticing in watching video interviews with “everyman” types on the street where latent Leopard-bitten magabots twist themselves into pretzels trying to disassociate the damage done to them with the fact that they supported and voted for trump. As if the shitty economy just occurred in a vacuum. Yeah sure, sure there Sonny Jim!
There’s a house not far from me in an older but rather comfortable bordering on smug neighborhood. Lotta retirees who bought there 30-40 years ago as well-paid white collar folks; managers and small/medium business owners. But not tycoons. Some turnover now and middle-aged folks are replacing the dying retirees. Zillow tells me houses in the neighborhood sell for around a mil, maybe even 1.3M so few to no disaffected blue collar working class folks here.
With that background out of the way …
One house on a corner lot has a flagpole in the yard and a big clean white pickup truck in the driveway most days. Back during trump1s time as criminal in chief the homeowner flew a large American flag with a trump flag just below on his pole.
The trump flag stayed up through the first year-ish of Biden’s term then was replaced by a yellow Gadsden Don’t Tread on Me flag. Which stayed up until trump was elected, at which point the trump flag returned.
Maybe 8 months ago the trump flag disappeared and the Gadsden flag returned. I just drove past and noticed the Gadsden flag is gone and there’s now a plain white flag with black block letters reading FREEDOM in its place.
I can only hope this evolution in flag tastes means the ignorant bastard has learned his lesson about voting trumply. I hope the leopards ripped him a new one. He can’t help himself about having stupid ideas of how to run a society. But maybe he’s soured on trump after he’s received enough of a beating from him.
I’ve seen a few angry MAGA voters arguing it doesn’t matter who they voted for. They’re in a tough spot. On one hand, going against Trump can alienate them from their own friends, family, and even professional contacts. But let’s be fair, they voted for Trump because they wanted to fuck other people over and not because they wanted to be fucked over, so we shouldn’t hold them responsible.
I’ve talked before about my MAGA friend who is a diehard Trump supporter. I was surprised to get this message from him last night:
I can’t stand the suspense! Seriously, what did it take?
Does the friend have any face left?
He didn’t specify, and he hasn’t answered me back yet, so I’m uncertain. Once I find out, we’ll all know.
Edit: he just answered:
Said another way, the most effective political slogan for this midterm election, and almost certainly the 2028 presidential is
It’s the price of diesel, stupid!
I mean, that’s an interesting interpretation of ”Iranian hardliners have not actually been brought ‘in line’ by US-Israel aggression, and even if they had it still wouldn’t make it right to launch an unprovoked attack on their country, not even if it weren’t ‘hurting us’ at all.”
Still, I’ll gladly take whatever MAGA souring on Trumpism is currently available, however garbled its reasoning.
I’m going to have a less positive view on such ‘disapproval’ from MAGA.
To be Clear, I’d absolutely prefer them to have doubts than to keep drinking KoolAid 24/7!
But almost all of the doubters I’ve seen here and online are really at the “it’s a problem when he eats my face”! There’s no actual change in the mindset towards the policies, just that they expect to be protected from the consequences. IE Trump’s whole entire mindset.
They are a lot more likely to just not Vote in the election, which is non-minor win, but so much of our Democracy has been gutted, that it’s going to be the work of multiple election cycles/decades to even begin to fix this. And that’s leaving out how a lot of MAGA will say they disapprove, but when it does come time to vote, they will be easily convinced that despite their faces being tatters, somehow Democrats would still be worse.
So hopeful for midterms, but I’m not in any way convinced that they won’t continue to be supporters of, shall we say, America first and White/Christian ethno-nationalism as long as their costs go down a bit.
…somehow Democrats would still be worse.
This is the bottom line for these MAGAts. No matter how low trump goes, Democrats would be worse.

No matter how low trump goes, Democrats would be worse.
Bingo. I hear this all the fucking time. “No matter how bad he is, he’s better than Kamala would have been.”
She could have been doing nothing other than snorting cocaine and watching Netflix in the Oval Office 24 hours a day and done no worse.
At the very least, not getting involved in a land war in Asia that drastically increased fuel and energy prices
But almost all of the doubters I’ve seen here and online are really at the “it’s a problem when he eats my face”! There’s no actual change in the mindset towards the policies, just that they expect to be protected from the consequences. IE Trump’s whole entire mindset.
That’s something I’ve asked Trump supporters about in the past. Even if they like his ideas, how can they get past his incompetence and corruption? His first administration was chaotic as fuck because Trump didn’t know what he was doing and I don’t think any of my Republican friends benefited in any concrete manner.
