Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

The kid was beaten up inside his own house.

But how is that a leopards eating faces thing? Did the kid vote for Trump? Did Trump make him wear a MAGA hat?

:person_shrugging:t4:

Search me.

Col. Andy Tanner: All that hate’s gonna burn you up, kid.

Robert: It keeps me warm.

That’s funny as hell!

It doesn’t belong in this thread… but I’m glad I saw it.

The leopards have been at it again.

Back in May, Mrs. Uiline (ULine Industrial Supply, one of trump’s top 5 donors leading up to the election) was griping about leopards eating her face because they can’t get enough workers.

Evidently, Liz had had some backlash that needed managing. From today’s ULine catalog: [Paraphrasing] “I’m not such a bad person! I’m less conservative than my husband! Why can’t we all just get along?”

And not paraphrasing:

When and where did our country get so far apart? This isn’t about Donald Trump although he hasn’t helped the situation.

Note: As of August 2026, the Uihleins had spent $69.5 million in support of Republican candidates in the 2026 United States elections.[49]

Oh, good grief, I happened across a 2024 newsletter where she gripes about how young people don’t stay at Uline long enough because of the Affordable Care Act. Their parents spoil and coddle them, and they have the nerve to think they can do better, and they have the luxury of being on their parents’ ACA health insurance where they can (gasp) leave a job and still have health insurance!

I wonder why they have such a hard time getting people to work for them???

They are truly deplorable people.

Too much to list here, but:

Uihlein was a major financial backer for the rally that preceded the January 6 United States Capitol attack.[31]

Occasionally when googling for something that Uline stocks, I’d check it out. Their prices were outragesly high. When I heard about their political views, I made sure to not even check our their site anymore.

I find that rich from the “Fuck Your Feelings” party.

It’s part of the double standard at the core of conservatism. We are supposed to be very concerned with their feelings and welfare; they on the other hand aren’t supposed to have the least concern for ours. And they get all morally outraged over it, because they think privilege and double standards are how the world is supposed to work.

You know, it’s actually refreshing to see some billionaire explicitly lamenting the end of feudalism. Who do these serfs think they are, finding a better job?

Leopards, tigers, it’s all the same to me

Shame it’s only AI slop fake pictures.

For a lot of them, I think they genuinely see politics as separate from the rest of their life. Many of the MAGA I know simply can’t grasp how politics has caused a rift between them and their family and friends. They don’t realize the decisions they make at the voting booth follows people home into their real lives.

I don’t suppose they have considered offering higher wages and some benefits?

Some kind of free market for labor?

That sounds an awful lot like socialism!

That’s fair. But that meme boils down to “snark about MAGA” and this thread (among those available) seemed closest.

Certainly you’re correct that the meme doesn’t specifically reference Trump voters.

(My bolding) She certainly deserves the Understatement of the Week award.

Of course these Trump voters need to find a way to justify their voting-booth choices. “He hasn’t helped” is surely the very nicest-possible way of assessing Donald-the-Destructor.

That’s where you’re mistaken, friend. To them, it’s not a double standard. To them, privilege determines the standard. It’s a status-based order. Like feudalism. They simply imagine themselves as a higher status than anyone who might disagree with them.

Holy shit. I didn’t even see your post until I penned my reply to DT. Great minds think alike, eh?

Right. That side of the political aisle uses “socialism” as a catch-all boogeyman word to decry anything that’s not basically libertarian or full-throated free market capitalism, or for that matter, anything that’s collective that they don’t like.

Collective stuff like fire departments libraries, and police (especially police) get the right-wing fawning adulation, but collective stuff like public clinics, rec centers, and stuff like that is evil socialism. Same thing for the military, social security, and medicare.

I think it stems from this sort of strange fixation conservatives have for making sure there isn’t “waste” as far as how taxes are spent, and anything that benefits groups they view as undeserving is “waste”, as are any programs that help people out who may have made bad choices, because they view that sort of help as enabling people who make bad choices and not deterring others from making the same bad choices.

And a lot of it is driven by massive blind spots as far as the way the world works. In their eyes, everyone had the same sort of middle class upbringing that they did, so if someone is poor, uneducated, single parent, addicted to drugs, etc… it’s all viewed as entirely within their control and the consequence of bad choices. And they feel like helping that is enabling and subsidizing that sort of behavior.

Which would be one thing if everyone did actually grow up in that sort of environment; I’m not a big fan myself of subsidizing people who are just fuckups and can’t get their shit together. But most people in those situations aren’t fuckups, they’re just starting from a much less advantageous position in money, education, cultural norms and mores, and expectations.

I was alerted that this is ‘1/1 free articles this month’.

“It’s the purest application of socialism there is,” Wesley Clark, the retired four-star general and former supreme allied commander of NATO forces in Europe, told me. And he was only partly joking.

“It’s a really fair system, and a lot of thought has been put into it, and people respond to it really well,” he added. The country can learn from that sense of mission, he said, from that emphasis on long-term strategic thinking.
