I’m pissed about USAID getting shut down (it has a direct impact on many of coworkers), but I have no sympathy for the farmers. They should know more than anyone else, you reap what you sow.

Unless they’re getting paid to not grow crops. (Is that still a thing? And, yes, I know the program is/was a bit more complicated than just “don’t plant, get paid”).
I guess that exception to the rule still stands. The CRP program is still going funded by the Farm Bill. And for the most part, I support CRP. But, it does provide a lot of money to families and companies that own a lot of land.
Edit to add: It is apparently $1.7B annually. We have an active thread started by conservatives about reducing waste and they are talking about low millions projects. Where is DOGE?
