I came here to post this. My wife works with farmers, and it’s dawning on a lot of them that USAID purchases a lot of US commodities. There are even some producers here in Arkansas who grow crops for the expressed purpose of selling to USAID. Those farmers are fucked.

add them to the farmers with no water in California because of trump’s stunt of releasing water from reservoirs to battle L.A.fires, ignoring that 1. by that time there wasn’t need for extra water and 2. the water was too far away to be practically moved to L.A. and 3. the water is banked in winter specifically for farms in summer. Water in CA is very scarce hence highly regulated and allotted. Trump shat all over that, hope those Okie farmers in the Central Valley appreciate what he’s done for them.
He’ll be right behind them, picking their pockets.
Hell, give them somebody to look down on, and they’ll empty their pockets for Trump in exchange for the many shitty Trump branded items Trump has sold over the years.
This one I don’t get. Aside from it being a stupid demand, why did the people in charge of the dam do it? They understand the situation.
trump’s minions couldn’t tell the difference. Just hit some switches, release a few thousand gallons, as soon as they leave, turn it off. Who’d know?
What boggles me is that it was the Army Corps of Engineers doing it, who really ought to know better.
